For anyone bored, here's a song to step...

I don't know what the bpm is but I would like a simfile for this song. Hard as possible without bs'ing the steps would be tight...

System of a down are so underground.

I've seen a couple of SoaD simfiles and they were horrible, I don't know why people think they would make good simfiles?

ReikonKeiri 09-18-2006 02:16 PM

Yes it is true that nearly all of the simfiles of this band on bms are below average, but they weren't stepped by an expert (Blurk, Zaghurim, etc.) That's kind of what I'm going for. I know this song could have an awesome stepfile and if I knew how to make them I would try, but it would probably end up off sync or I wouldn't get the right bpm cause I don't understand all that stuff.

This has potential, but if no one wants to do it that's fine I don't really care either way, but it could be a sweet file...

Afrobean 09-18-2006 02:23 PM

Most SoaD songs have massive potential for fun simfiles.

The problem, however, is two fold. The best simfile artists are too busy wanking off to electronic music to enjoy something like SoaD. In addition, the BPM is likely to be not a whole number and it's likely to have slight variances in BPM throughout the song.

"The best simfile artists are too busy wanking off to electronic music to enjoy something like SoaD." - Very very true

"The BPM is likely to be not a whole number and it's likely to have slight variances in BPM throughout the song." - So people are to lazy to make changes for that?

Yeah.

I actually tried stepping Science a while back. The sync from the beginning was pretty bad, and the BPM only varied further from there. It would be really hard to sync the variable BPMs, even for people who really know what they're doing.

That said, I do believe that This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm On This Song was included in a pack [turns out it was F4]. I'm looking into finding it right now, and I'll edit my post when I find it.

EDIT: got it. IM me for it. [We should get strikethroughs, if only for things like this.]

EDIT*2: screw it. I hope Rai doesn't mind.

Ain't that the cold hard ****ing truth. In fact I know so many metal songs that could make the tightest simfiles, but whenever people try to step them it's a big 16th note stream of gayness.

P.S. Chop Suey! was the best SOAD stepfile I ever played, and that's saying practically nothing.

I played a Chop Suey! once. It was on sync but way too easy. 16th streams aren't bad btw I actually enjoy them (unless it's like retarded Disregard bull)

Seriously though, if someone does this they get 20 uber cool points...

soad is the worst band in the universe

i know this because my friend listened to soad every day at lunch last year

violent pornography is pretty good but every other one of their songs is unbelievably terrible

You have no clue what the hell you're talking about, I'm not even going to enlighten you.

Shut the **** up and don't try to be so elitist. He had an opinion, just because he doesn't like a band that you do does not mean he "has no clue what he is talking about". Jeez.

Re: For anyone bored, here's a song to step...

Anyone that claims established simfile authors to be lazy due to not stepping SoaD: stop it. It's hard as balls. I stepped most of Sad Statue a long time ago. It was kinda fun, but the syncing wasn't so hot. Most wasn't very noticable in a normal playthrough, but the combination of it all just made it play pretty awkwardly. Their music is just really, really hard to sync. I might be able to pull something off decently now that I'm a lot better at this type of stuff. I'm sure Blurk could whip up something awesome.

Get it straight, though. It takes an extremely long time to do something like this and do it right. Rai's TCMMFLIOTS was synched pretty damn well, but it's a very short song in comparison to most of SoaD's stuff. I think we might see a good SoaD file here and there in the future, but it's way too time consuming to expect any kind of frequency. Same goes for a lot of other live-recorded stuff. There will be some, but not much.

Normally I would agree with you. The problem is what is said is not an opinion. He said SOAD is the worst band in the Universe, not "I believe SOAD is the worst band in the Universe." Although at first glance it may look the same to you, I can assure you there is a major difference.

Being elitist? Hardly. I just wish people would stop stating their opinions as if they're facts. That's all.

EDIT: P.S. SOAD is obviously not the worst band in the universe, as they have made millions and millions of dollars. Saying they are the worst is not only blatantly untrue, but extremely uneducated. Any band that is successful is not "The worst band in the universe" if only for that fact that a large group of people enjoy there music, and They make mad ****ing cash off of those fans.

I would completely agree with you if he said something more reasonable like "I think SOAD sucks, because...." But he didn't. Saying that SOAD is "The worst band in the universe" is stupid, ignorant, and goes to prove my first point: That he doesn't know what the **** he's talking about.

You have a point danceguy and I understand that completely. Seriously though, if Blurk stepped this that would just be orgasmic. The steps would be uber 1337.

lol I have a Chop Suey file. I could tell it was bad before I even knew what a bad stepfile was. I'm looking at you Arch.

Re: For anyone bored, here's a song to step...

I never said they were lazy either. I just agreed that a lot of them don't even try because they always stick to 1 or 2 genres of music.

If Blurk stepped suite-pee I'd **** myself.

Re: For anyone bored, here's a song to step...

Actually, danceguy, a lot of rock music is recorded in a way that'll give it relatively constant BPM. I think SoaD strays from this a bit though ironically.

But yeah, it's really a compound reasoning for why people don't step it. Yeah, it's hard, I know this. If people were into the music though, they'd be willing to put more time into it. So it's really a combination of the best simfile artists not being really into rock music and the fact that it's incredibly difficult to sync SoaD (and other rock music, even though some of it does have constant BPM).

And don't get me started on "rock music doesn't have constant BPM lol." A lot of it does. If you don't believe me, try syncing a few rock songs. You'll find many songs have constant BPMs, even if the BPMs aren't whole numbers.

Nice...

I still wish someone would give it shot though :\
