Sit ups question

Should I limit how many sit ups I do in one go? Normally I do around 300 when I am depressed. My parents are concerned that if I do that many at a time I will strain myself. Does doing around that many at a time put me at risk to injury?

Re: Sit ups question

300 reps is pretty high. Honestly you'd be better off just doing a circuit of exercises as opposed to just murdering your midsection.

As for if it could risk injury? I don't really have a clear answer. Doing 300 reps of any one exercise per day is probably going to end up in some kind of strain though.

Re: Sit ups question

300 reps in one set?

If so you're almost definitely doing them improperly and should focus on improving your form, increasing range of motion and contraction to make the exercise harder for yourself.

300 reps spaced out among a bunch of sets? Go for it if you can handle that kind of ab volume.
