E3 Discussion

Anyone see anything worth talking about from E3? I haven't been able to actually watch anything live so I'd be interested in some things that people found the most interesting.

From various random articles I've noticed a few things such as Mass effect 4, fallout 4 and xbox one backward compatibility.

Why wasn't this enabled to begin with?

I'm very much excited to see the new Doom game. I saw a few videos on it and it looks incredible. What tickled my fancy was seeing when you go to switch weapons, time slows down to a point to accurately depict what weapon you need and what is in your general surroundings (depending on camera angle).

I'm getting dribs and drabs of what happened in E3, there's a few other interesting things.

On a different topic I just heard they released additional content for the new Super Smash Brothers; Ryu is now playable along with a Street Fighter stage and they brought back Kirby's Dream Land from the N64.

Doom looks amazing.

However, not a fan of time slowing down when changing weapons. That definitely was not the staple for Doom.

My brother bought the new super smash bros stuff. I kind of like Roy. He was my go to character in melee, but he is quite different in smash4. Not in a bad way, it is just very different even though the moves are mostly the same.

I didn't like Ryu.

Copy pasting my most recent Facebook status:

"Dear Square Enix,
I'm a major hater of most turn based RPGs, and most especially of your Final Fantasy franchise. For the few things I think are neat with these games, I find a universe worth of other things to rage over, so you get absolutely no hype from me in regards to the remake of FFVII you announced.

What you do get, however, is my respect back. You did what most "big shot" companies no longer do very often: Listening to what the fans say and not just to other corporates. You weren't fond of the idea, but you decided to do it anyway, possibly for more than just a shiny paycheck at the end of the year. Yeah I know, Sony was heavily involved with the decision, but that's a minor detail. You're still going to assign your development personel and give that project a lot of your time, regardless of if you fund it yourself or not.

I like to point out when people do nice things rather than only when they mess up, and this time, guys, I'm tipping my hat to you.

Looking up to the moment you will make many, many gamers really happy! =)

Cheers~"

There's a thread dedicated to the game, but yea.

True; there was a more chaotic feel when you had to cycle through weapons for specific enemies while taking cover so you didn't get annihilated. The executions though are hella beast. The indicator to perform an execution is subpar.

@Izzy, that's right Roy was added back too haha. I knew I was forgetting something with that whole thing.

Honorable Mentions:
Fable Legends
Mad Max
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
N fucking PLUS PLUS (N++) N+ was a magnificent game this is hype.

And this game; oh man this game.

I've been waiting for No Man's Sky since E3 last year. When is this game even supposed to come out?

There is no official date (like a specific month or actual date of release). All that is known is it is releasing some time this year.

Nintendo's E3 showing was hell-a disappointing.

Like holy shit, what the fuck are they doing?

"We're transforming"

Hell you're transforming, are you seriously going to ignore the Wii-U and then troll everyone with your spin off shit?

This is the biggest "FUCK YOU" I've ever seen come from Nintendo.

Like, tell me...

Why...

THE FUCK YOSHI'S WOOLLY WORLD IS COMING FOUR MONTHS LATER AFTER THE EU VERSION!?

What's the reason, huh? What's the fucking reason?

Is it sales? Bullshit, people would love to have a game over the summer, and you fucking blew it.

Fuck you Nintendo, wow, I have never been so angry at E3 before.

Hey, Nintendo, we want Metroid!

Okay, here's this game that has NOTHING TO DO WITH METROID, but hey look, IT'S GOT THE METROID NAME.

FUCK YOU

Oh hey Nintendo, we would like Animal Crossing on the Wii-U

Okay, here it is! Oops, we forgot to mention we took out the actual game and made it a board game now, HAHA!

I'm terribly disgusted with Nintendo right now.

I don't care about your Star Fox game now, even though I will buy it. You left such a horrible taste in my mouth, holy fuck.

Nintendo is terrible at figuring out what their customers want. Even microsoft is better at it.

Re: E3 Discussion

Not gonna lie nintendo's conference was one of the worst i've seen for a while (almost as bad as their 2008 conference) The only thing that really excited me was super mario maker, starfox didn't look that great, the zelda 3ds game looked decent but still lacked something for me. Metroid looks like it's already angered everyone (because its not what we expected) and while the overall feel of the presentation was good, the actual content was pretty poor.

Square Enix's conference was pretty good, KH3 announcement was obviously a big one, Hitman looked good as did Deus Ex (Although they stated that the big enemy is the illuminati, why?) They had some other solid games as well, (Just Cause 3, Rise of the Tomb raider & of course the FF7 remake) to be honest I'm surprised how many Square Enix games I'm liking.

Re: E3 Discussion

Games on my radar at the moment:
Rise of the Tomb Raider - I have had a Tomb Raider background on my desktop ever since this was shown last E3 so yeah I'm stupid hype and waiting not so patiently.
Horizon Zero Dawn - I'm sad that this will most likely never see PC.
FF7 remake - oh
Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited - yeah I know Elder Scrolls Online but I really liked Skyrim and this one doesn't have a monthly subscription so idk we'll see
Mirror's Edge Catalyst - looks solid
Dark Souls 3 - I'm slightly masochistic

World of Final Fantasy is super adorable but it's probably PS4 exclusive so I won't be able to play it.

Re: E3 Discussion

Kingdom Hearts no longer interests me. First and Second were awesome, and then they rolled with like four different storylines with their sequels and now imo the idea around the game years ago is completely different than projected with 3.

Nintendo, the king of retro, failing to succeed in the future of gaming. What else is new?
