Step this song please
Can someone please step this if it isn't a song already? I haven't played in forever so I don't know if it has been done since I last played
I don't know how, or else I would! This song is AMAZEBALLS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IugChiRTsE |
Re: Step this song please
is there permission for this?
|
Re: Step this song please
Does sound rather steppable in my opinion, mostly the beginning. Wouldn't be too hard to make a fun file out of this. The hard part would be making a nice cut.
Not sure about permission for this particular artist, but it should be easy for you to get. In my experience, 99% of the time if an artist has a song up for free download, they will consent to at least a CC BY-NC license for that song which means we can use it. Even with really big artists, if you just ask them for permission for free download songs only, it usually goes over well. |
Re: Step this song please
Yeah, I can email the users youtube channel for permission if you want me too
Or if the potential stepper wants to email them it would take a step away from the process |
Re: Step this song please
dubstep is bad

Re: Step this song please
or you could get the permission yourself h0h0

Re: Step this song please
I'll contact TuneDEF
& epic network music |
Re: Step this song please
Yay! I hope permission may be granted for this! It's a good add IMO.
|
Re: Step this song please
I do like the song very much.
Request to TuneDEF sent for Justice Request sent to EpicNetworkMusic for TuneDEF's Justice, and left it open ended for if there were any other artists they would also like to suggest potentially using and having permission for on their label. |
Re: Step this song please
TuneDEF is on Spotify too!
Thanks for the consideration on the suggestion! |
Re: Step this song please
(I'm not stepping though that's on someone else)

Re: Step this song please
hey this song is awesome

Re: Step this song please
With how much praise you guys are giving this song it just comes across as really average to me... There are much more interesting dubstep songs out there.
Sounds like this would make a hella boring and repetitive file to me. |
Re: Step this song please
there's so much ducking in this track, holy shit
could probably step this |

That having been said, it would make a file worth playing if done right. Hell you could even have some fun with this on Xmod if you wanted I think. |

Once the percussion comes in- two different synths to layer, plus the percussion itself. Fairly repetitive but it has a lot of interludes with rhythmic variety. If you cut the repeat of this part out, it would blend perfectly into the next part. Quiet section after percussion cuts out- non-standard rhythms in the synth, background 16ths again. could go real easy on this section or build it up with layering. Lots of options. Chorus section starting at 1:38- this is where it gets a little boring to step in my opinion, but honestly you only want repeat of this section before the end of the file anyway. Still a few options to layer here, plus the interludes have great variety. The break at 2:42 seems like a decent natural stopping point. If you cut out one repeat from each of the earlier sections you get a very varied file that's a little less than 2:00 long, would be perfect. Almost no repetition at all. Could also tack one more repeat on the end for a 2:30-ish long file. Definitely some interesting drum work you could focus on to change it up and stuff. A lot of this song's success as a file would come down to good cuts. Take a look at the Ah Shwe Bah cut that is in FFR, that's a perfect example of taking a rather long song and seamlessly reducing repeats while making it fun to play and keeping the soul of the song. While I agree that, musically and production-wise, there's a lot better dubstep songs out there, a lot of them are really texturally simple and hard to make anything more than a 20-difficulty simple file to. It's about the layers of sound you can make a file around, and to me, this song has enough layers with enough rhythmic diversity in those layers that it could make for a really good file up to the 50s and even higher Quote:
Why do you stay? |
Re: Step this song please
Any word on this?

it's not a fantastic song but due to the ducking and how varied the drop (ugh) is, it should make for a fairly interesting mid-level file once I get sm5 up and running on linux I'll take a shot at this |
Re: Step this song please
okay I obviously need to make a really short cut because there's practically nothing I can do for the first section besides 8ths
