Help on Making a Stepfile for Treasure Trove Cove

I've been making a stepfile for Treasure Trove Cove from the Banjo Kazooie (Nintendo 64) soundtrack. I have already gotten permission by e-mail, and I've stepped about 20% of the song already in Stepmania 5. However, although the steps are on-beat at the beginning, it gradually gets more and more off-beat, even though I'm using the correct rhythm for the song. I looked up the BPM for Banjo Kazooie online, which is 126 BPM, and I changed the entire song to be 126 BPM, but somehow the rhythm still eventally gets offbeat. It isn't that offbeat, but it's offbeat enough that it poses a problem to me. Please tell me how to fix this, and thank you in advance! :)

I'd nudge it in DDream and then bring it back into Stepmania to step. However, I don't use Stepmania to make files.

EDIT:

IF you don't have DDream click below. I personally love it. Skype me, and I'll teach ya / show ya how to do it.

.........you got permission from fucking grant kirkhope?

WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ANYONE

also, if you did, i'm not sure if nintendo owns the music and you'd have to get permission from them.

I e-mailed Grant Kirkhope, but he said that he didn't own the rights to that song. However, Rare e-mailed me back saying it was fine. :) Also, I would love to post proof, but I'd rather not show everyone my e-mail address. >.<

You could tweak the bpm by adding a tenth of a decimal to it or less depending on if it's going too fast off the beat or too slow. Maybe making it 126.10 or 125.90 would help.

Yeah I'd suggest DDReam also. Very good for syncing.

Just black it out in paint or something. With permissions like this, we really have to verify for ourselves, because we could get into some big trouble if it turns out it's not a legit permission get.

I e-mailed Grant Kirkhope, and he told me he doesn't have the rights to this song:

I also tried e-mailing Rare, and this was their response:

Re: Help on Making a Stepfile for Treasure Trove Cove

So judging by the second email, this is possibly a blanket permission for Rare songs? o.o

You should probably email Mircosoft just to be on the safe side.

In my opinion, I'd say fuck all that. We have permission as long it follows the Game Content Usage Rules.

Re: Help on Making a Stepfile for Treasure Trove Cove

Hmm, very interesting. I took a look at those usage rules (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/developer/rules) and the main problem for us is that we "must include the following notice about the Game Content" and a link to those rules. I'm not sure if that is doable with the way we have set up the game. Might be worth asking a rep at Microsoft to see if they can make an exception.

Re: Help on Making a Stepfile for Treasure Trove Cove

If this is truly allowed, I have an idea for Click Clock Woods from Banjo Kazooie.

Four people should make a chart for the four seasons and then when the season comes by, have FFR unlock them and then re-lock for future seasons.

Or make it token for seasons in general, dohoho.

Re: Help on Making a Stepfile for Treasure Trove Cove

or do it the way it's done in the game: have spring unlock summer unlock fall unlock winter
