Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
Rent a van or something. Though that might end up being more expensive.
|
Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
yeah I was thinking about that but that'd be expensive as ****.
|
Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
I wouldn't be able to take the van over the border if I did rent it. I would need written permission from the renting place in order to take it over.

Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
that's gay ):
well, if I have a car by then, we could just use two cars |
Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
Depending on my financial situation I would REALLY like to go. If things worked out, I'd be making the trip in one day (or leaving late one day to stop at Ian's (I Like It) house for the night since he's about 4 hours into the trip. Trip route if Ian is coming with me:
I'd possibly be willing to pick someone up, but it would have to be close enough to that route that we weren't adding too much extra time since (like I said) we'd be trying to make the whole trip in one day. |
Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
Dammit, I hate not living near ANYONE. xD

Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
I'm trying to work this out so I can go. >_>; Flights up there are expensive for me though, plus hotels/spending money/etc. But maybe.

Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
If you're attending the whole weekend, I'd say bring at least $200-300 to cover food expenses and any purchases (not including fees for hotel or transportation). Otherwise if you're only going for a day, I think you can manage with $100, maybe even less. If you don't feel safe carrying all that money around, just bring your debit/credit card since there are ATMs around con and a lot of vendors accept them. I'd avoid the ATM deal though because you're guaranteed to be stuck in a really long lineup, lol.
If you aren't planning on spending at all, $100 could last you the whole weekend, rofl. |
Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
What's the best place to stay at, in regards to distance from the event and hotel costs? I hope I don't need to break an arm and leg for staying XXX nights.
|
Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
I have a feeling that if I go, I'll be spending relatively little on anything other than food or gas for the trip.

Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
Doubletree Hotel is right across from the TCC but is also the most expensive as you'd imagine.
Radisson is behind the TCC and is actually pretty well priced. I've stayed here for AN 2008 and AN 2011. There are two Holiday Inns in the area: one that's a 5 minute walk from the TCC and the other one all the way down the road which is a 20-30 minute walk. The pricing is nice but if you want the cheapest hotel you can find in the area, the Holiday Inn that's all the way down the road is your best bet. Kommi, WTFBrandon, and I stayed here during AN 2010 due to a booking mixup. Literally, we only walked back to the hotel to drop stuff off or sleep because of the time spent walking, lmao. The other Holiday Inn close to the con I stayed at during AN 2009. Pricing is decent and location is convenient. There's the Sheraton hotel which has all the gaming events AN has scheduled. Basically, if you're going to be spending most of your time in the DDR room or playing games, stay here lol. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Doubletree and TCC. There are other hotels in the area but I don't really know much about them let alone the pricings. You can check the Hotel section on the AN website for this info I suppose. |
Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List

Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
with Razor and Choofers/Torrent iirc?
|
Re: Anime North 2012 Attendance List
The radisson if you can get in is probably the best spot. It's literally across the parking lot from the convention and is a decent place to stay.
Walking 30 minutes to get to the con wasn't cool so don't mix up the hotels for holiday inn like i did ever please. |
