Dueling Network

Anyone play Yu-Gi-Oh besides me?

If you do, do you use the DN?

Re: Dueling Network

Tried to get back in, but a lot of the new mechanics confused me. I sorta stuck with a Skill Drain deck just so I could understand what's going on. Apparently it's stronger due to all of the crazy shit that's been going on. Also who made Raigeki unbanned?

Kanzas 03-17-2015 03:43 PM

Re: Dueling Network

Yep, Raigeki is unbanned. It's limited though. Snatch Steal is also back lol

I play on DN a lot, I don't use those new decks though, like Nekroz, Burning Abyss, or any other meta

Re: Dueling Network

I can't enjoy the game enough anymore to sit there and go on DN let alone play the real life game. I used to aim for high ratings but at the end of the day it simply wasn't worth it.

Re: Dueling Network

I dont care about ratings really, just enjoy trying new decks mainly to use irl if they are viable. I have fun though, apart from people who can't read and understand chains and also the trolls.

Re: Dueling Network

To be fair the mechanics make almost no sense. One card may have the exact same text as another, but are ruled differently. Some big events also become null and void because a ruling was one way and another way after.

Good examples of this are "Sangan gets search on detach" and "You can use Effect Veiler on a Castor and negate the second summon."

Sangan's effect doesn't happen when it gets Detached, assuming you mean as Xyz Material, because it's no longer actually on the field. Nothing really is, if it's Xyz material.

As for Veiler vs Castor, it makes perfect sense. When you opponent summons castor during MP1, you can use Veiler to negate his effect, for the rest of the turn, meaning they can't summon another. It says on Veiler, that it has to be done during Mp1 only. So, If your oppnent dosent summon Castor until MP2, then Veiler can't negate Castor effect to summon another, again as long as the first Castor was summoned in MP2..

Exactly. However, one event when Xyz's first came out it was ruled so that you COULD search.

As for Castor and Veiler, one event ruled that it would negate Castor, but after the event, they changed the ruling so that it wouldn't stop the second summon from happening.

Hopefully that tells you that Konami sometimes doesn't know the rules of their own game.

Re: Dueling Network

I was never aware of either of these events taking place, nor has that ever been an issue. But, I can see that Konami would change that rule, that would just make Sangan or anything else similar broken.

I wish the ui was more intuitive for DN.

Gotta love YCS's sometimes when cards first come out. Sometimes they throw a shitty ruling out of the blue and their whole weekend gets ruined when the ruling changes the day after.

Yeah, it could def be more user friendly, and imo a bit more like YGO-Pro so that way you know when you can use effects and all that shit.

Haven't played in ages. Used to have a Psychic Deck...

And no to DN. :(

I actually deleted YGOpro from my computer as I have no reason to have it anymore. I believe i was lucky enough to run into ONE FFR person and I didn't know until I got wall blasted on my profile (well not really.)

To be fair Pro was a lot better and it required a lot less brain stamina to function than DN. Of course, I always enjoyed playing with physical cards, but its not worth my time and effort anymore to do that.

Should try it out if you want, it's neat.

Eh, I though YGOPro was too non-interactive for me. I play with physical cards still, but only with a select few friends irl that play.

Re: Dueling Network

My big issue with DN is that it's basically on an honor system when it comes to the other player.
And you and I can both vouch for how well that works out.

Re: Dueling Network

Not to mention people get so mad when they lose these days. "THEY HAD THE F**KING HONEST!" Some players act like they'll go to prison tomorrow unless they beat you and they get so mad because you beat them. In short, there's no such thing as "legitimately" beating someone.

Another thing is playing against a dumbass that doesn't know their rulings and thinks they know everything. Even if I clearly show them perfect English of the correct ruling proving they're wrong, they'll be like "Oh that's not legit! I wanna see it on the official website!" Just pisses me off sometimes.

This is my main issue with DN, they also need to get rid of the "Quit" button. It gets abused so very often by all the Rage-ers lol.
