i’m not trying to get people to pity me, i’m trying to warn people so it doesn’t happen to you or anyone else

I think it has something to do with how alarms work in iPhones. From https://www.howtogeek.com/348818/wil...iphone-is-off/, a set alarm will go off even if the phone's in silent mode or DND mode.

For the phone I'm using (Xiaomi Mi MAX 3), the volume settings contain 3 sliders, one for apps (e.g. Youtube), one for notifications, and one for alarms. Silent mode mutes notifications while DND mode does that as well as setting the app volume to zero, but the alarm volume remains unchanged for both modes.

alarm volume is usually separate from the other volumes

im pretty sure theaters put a big thing up before movies start saying "pls turn off ur phone xD" but its pretty unintuitive that silent mode wouldn't silence all sounds

True. Same thing happened to me. Just don't forget to disable the alarm.

Alarms will always override any mode or volume setting. Just remember to turn off your alarms and you won't have to worry about them during quiet events

The alarm will go off unless you had turn it off. It doesn't matter whether your phone at silent or not.
