Demographic Poll (Anonymous)

Question came up in a discord today and I'm curious about the numbers here. The poll is set up so that nobody can see who voted for what, so you can vote without worrying about outing yourself if you are not -publicly- all the things you identify as.

I've also put in a bunch of fake votes so nobody has to be the "first" to vote anything and make it clear which thing they picked.

I'm guessing you're still building the poll?

I've added some pseudo-random numbers to each result. You have no way to know how many are real votes versus fake votes (I know so I can get the actual results at the end) so you don't have to be afraid of people knowing you voted if you voted early.

I'm autistic and proud (except for the social, sensory and developmental barriers), since that's one of the things being asked on the poll.

lol what a bump.

Could probably hamper a guess at which one of the three is me.

My personal opinion, is that I don't believe autism shares as much of a connection with the other two choices, as much as 'Furry' and 'Queer' could share with each other.

erotic (art)work / videos definitely can tend to open your mind to giving other options a try, and changing self-identification if you are more comfortable to it.

Don't think 'trying autism' is possible, and connecting them together in a poll like this in my opinion, somewhat reinforces a stereotype that all 3 are somewhat connected. Like how gun violence in America / mass shootings are somewhat connected to video game violence, and is pretty inconclusive.

Well I’d think being queer and being autistic are both FAR more common than being a furry, making that one the outlier

I think that people who use the internet are much much more likely to be a Furry, and people who seldom use the internet (or not at all), use it for work, or only use a phone are much much less likely. Also think that people whom are older and grew into the computer's existence, are much less likely to be a Furry, than people who grew up with a computer. Essentially, it's a skewed audience because it's online. Much more skewed, because it's on a 'rhythm gaming forum' whom's main audience is between the ages of 10 - 25, right in that zone of people who grew up with a computer.

Would probably be a much different story if it was a polling station or peer review.

Completely serious question: is being a furry a choice? I can see someone being born with a certain set of "proclivities" that would lend themselves to being a furry but to me, is this not a socially constructed identity that reinforces itself through operant conditioning? Let's say you try it out and have a bad experience; just out of sheer bad luck you discount yourself as a furry. I wonder if a similar argument could be made of one's sexuality in general? I know a lot of women who "tried" being straight and had a terrible experience with their first encounter so ended up being a lesbian. Who knows what would have happened if the situations were slightly different. It's almost like preferring certain types of foods. I used to really like coconut as a kid but one day I got sick from eating a bunch of desserts that my mother made and now I stay away from coconut.

Okay back to work thanks for reading :D

Those three come up separately and together often as "Things that are present in high numbers in the FFR community" so I was curious how many people identified as some number of them.

Also, if you want to name an outlier, I'm with rayword that Furry is the most outlier of the three, though I'm also with Dynam0 that I don't think any of the three are opt-in.
