Help me pick the right class! -Math

Hey so im a sophmore in highschool and I have an important question:

I'm in honors trig/pre-calc right now and its fairly easy i have a 92% in the class.

Should I take AP Calc AB or AP Calc BC next year?

My thinking:
2 years of calc is better than just going to BC. I mean, what would i take after calc BC if i took it next year.

Im in alot of other APs and theater and golf is very very time consuming.

Take BC.

Wouldnt it be better to have a 5 on AB and BC so i have 2 creds for college?

BC gets you a lot more cred strength, and it's not weak-ass pussy level like AB. Colleges like to see you take the hardest shit you can whenever you can take it. It doesn't make much sense to take AB then BC... that's like taking both SAT Math IC and IIC. Just take the harder one.

To be specific: BC = AB + more shit

Well then i should be good since im taking AB + Physics C: Mechanics + Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism (yup they are separate classes) + more easier APs

One thing about taking BC - depends how easy math is for you - there will be certain things that you'll be expected to know. ie you may have to self-study a lot of topics.

Take intro to negative bpms and basic bpm gimmicks

AB isn't worth it imo. Just take BC - it'll really help you get a feel for what the pace and load of first year university math (MATH 100/101) is like (except BC has to skip some stuff).

take bc at school and take diff eq & multivar calculus at a local college
get yourself ahead of

Well... seeing all the comments for BC without any real evidence of pros to it as i see my cons still outweigh it (i literally have so many after school activities #derp).

If i take BC junior year ill have nothing for senior year which is gonna kill if i don't take a calc class before college. Ill just take BC senior year so ill be straight up prepared right when i hit college. Every kid at my school said our Calc BC teacher will fail you if you take it before AB first anyways....

BC Calculus is essentially AB Calc with extra topics dealing with integration, convergence of series, and parameterization. It is worth your time since you will be paying $83 for two semesters worth of college math instead of one. And even if you do "poorly" on the exam, you will receive an AB subscore that determines what you would've gotten if you took the AB exam. Colleges are very lenient when it comes to BC Calculus because it is seen as a difficult subject. Some will offer you the full 8 credits by scoring a 3 on the BC Calc exam alone.

It's also foolish to take both AB and BC Calculus throughout high school since you will be covering the same material twice. Any BC Calc teacher who fails you because you haven't taken AB is foolish.

no pros to taking bc?

it gets you out of basic math courses in college (usually 2 semesters worth or something)
bc is just ab+a bit new material and the material is SUPA easy if you actually do homework

bc is also better cause you take 1 class and get 2 AP scores (ab sub, bc score)

and you can't use school activities as an excuse

if learning ab took 30 minutes everyday, bc would take 33 minutes everyday, it's not any harder than ab, and ab is a waste of time
it's like 4 chapters in a calc book - that's ab
bc is like 11 chapters, but a lot of the shit is overlapping

if u dont take bc, ur choice but you're wasting a year if you take ab

(studiez have shown that kidz who took bc soph/junior year at my school have gotten into schools berkeley & higher. mit included)

If you take AB junior year and then BC in senior year you will be incredibly bored for months in BC as you do the same exact material for a lot of the year. Is there really nothing you could take senior year after BC in junior year? Talk to the department maybe.

Take additional math courses at a local community college or fill the spot with another tough science course or sth similar

Conversely, you can say that there are no pros in taking AB.

Also, c'mon, unless you have Reach's schedule, you'll undoubtedly have enough time to study for BC (Considering you have time to study for AB) and to be completely honest, I barely opened up my textbook in that class.

If you still go for AB even after all of this discussion, I don't know what to say...

this is exactly what i recommended lol, rubix also has the same idea ;)
bc junior year
ap stats senior year (if u already took it then dont take math in school senior year)

take differential equations during school year with bc, if you cant do it, do it over summer. if you dont have time, just take bc junior year, dont take math at school and instead take differential equations & multivariable calculus at a local community college. then proceed to discrete math, linear algebra, the good stuff
