TWG CIII: New Players Welcome

TWG CIII: New Players Welcome
AKA The Perils of Cheese
(Because I'd like to sound inviting! Unless people come here to be slaughtered ... Welp!)

Start: NIGHT
Card Flips: OFF
Night Talking: ON
In-Thread Talk Only: ON

KitB: ON
Instant Lynch: ON
No Lynch at less than 1/3 of the votes.

Example: If there are 12 players, a player will be instantly lynched on receiving 7 votes. If no player has 4 or more votes when the phase ends, no one will be lynched.

You will be replaced if you make no posts for two phases in a row.

24-hour nights, 48-hour days. A phase may be extended for 24 hours once if enough users make a request due to unavailability.

Green Victory: Eliminate the four Reds.
Red Victory: Get to a 1:1 Red to Green/Blue ratio.

16 Players

GREEN (9)
Citizen (x7)
- Just your average citizen.
Model Citizen (Blue Miller) - You appear as Blue to the Shaman's search.
Aide (BPV Citizen) - At night, you can choose to wear your bullet-proof vest which will disintegrate after two uses. The Inspector and Enforcer will recognize you if you are killed.

SPECIAL (3)
Inspector (Seer/One-shot Vigi)
- Each day, you can choose one player to look into, alive or dead, as being Green or Red. (You will get the results at the end of the day phase.) During the night, you can choose to kill one player who you have seen is red, but you can only use this skill once during the game. Whichever wolf was sent to make the night's kill will attack your target instead. The Enforcer and Aide will recognize you if you are killed.
Enforcer (Seer/Bodyguard) - Each night, you can choose one player to look into, alive or dead, as Green or Red. (You will get the results at the end of the night phase.) Also during the night, you can choose to guard another player. If this player is attacked by a wolf, both you and the attacker will be killed. You may use both of your skills every night as long as you are alive. The Inspector and Aide will recognize you if you are killed.
Dr. Blocker (Roleblocker/One-shot Doctor) - You can choose one player to block from carrying out their role each night. You can choose to use your healing device on this player, but the device only works once.

RED (4)
Master Wolf
- You appear Green to the seers. You can choose who to send to make the kill, and your kill vote overrides the others. You bite your victims.
Shaman - Each night, you can seer a player, alive or dead, as Green or Blue. You slash your victims up with your claws.
Wolf (x2) - You're an average werewolf who bites your victims.

Night Kill
The Master Wolf has the final say in who to target and who to carry out the kill. If the Master Wolf is killed (or doesn't send in a PM), the last wolf to send in a kill will be the one to carry out the kill on that player. Blocking the MW only stops the night kill if the MW is the one who carries out the kill.

Re: TWG CIII: New Players Welcome

All roles have now been sent out.

A dim overhead light flickers on inside the chamber. The sixteen people in the bunk beds lining the east and west walls are awoken from their induced sleep. "Good evening, everyone," a voice is heard from the intercom. "Due to the recent outbreak of werewolf activity in the area, the police have been cracking down on suspected lycans. Being a neutral party, we have decided it is more fun to devise a game. We collect officers and werewolves and mix in some average citizens. Those of you who have helped us in our studies before, welcome back. For new players, the rules of the game can be viewed on the south wall. Please do not break the screen. On the north wall, you will see a symbol of a stick figure in a flaming trash can. Pull the handle there to access the incinerator. You will need to make use of it so the room will not reek of dead bodies by the time you are done. Our cleaning staff is overworked as it is, so please dispose of your casualties as necessary. We have provided a table with a variety of non-perishable food so no one will starve during the study. We hope you like prunes and canned tomatoes." The intercom clicks off. The sixteen people gather in the center of the room and look at each other, some clearly more confused than others. The intercom clicks on again: "Oh, by the way, we've altered everyone's true appearance with the help of a magical field that surrounds the room. The magic will only fade away with the person's vital signs. Forming alliances ruins some of the fun when people know each other, you know. We have contacted you all through your private messaging devices, so please use these when you need to get in contact with us. We will be seeing most of you in the morning. Ta-ta for now."

NIGHT ONE begins now and will end on NOV 3TH at 10 PM EASTERN, -5 GMT.

Re: TWG CIII: New Players Welcome

Okay, so I instinctively open up Trillian and wanna chat with people about the game, but I realized that outside communication is forbidden.

I must emphasize this, because there are new players here and this mechanic is unusual to the game. This means that if evidence comes up that you have been sharing game-relevant information outside of this thread, you can be evicted from the game, unless you're a wolf. In fact, you probably will even if you are a wolf, since not doing anything would essentially be a tacit admission on the part of the host that the involved players are wolves. So yeah, don't do it.

This also means that there is near-zero alliance forming potential because all communication is public, and no card flips. So nobody can objectively be "proven" one role or another except in chance circumstances. So, that's gonna be really difficult, any time a power role comes out or someone is confirmed human, it's a death sentence for them, basically. On the other hand, the human side is pretty loaded in terms of power roles, sooo...I dunno?

This will definitely be interesting to play, is all I can say right now.

I'm gonna +1 this because it's crucial.

No more giant AIM groups? Thank god because parsing the logs from those were literally the worst part about playing TWG...

The chance is pretty high that someone will claim and be "proven" this game. We have two seers (and no false positives) and one of them has to claim in the thread to get any wolf they may seer killed. I think it would be beneficial to split up the seering duties, with two objectives in mind: to prevent the seers from picking the same target, and to give the inspector the highest chance of finding a wolf.

My idea is to have the inspector seer publicly suspected players, while the enforcer seers someone else. So let's say Day 1 player X gets lynched with 5 votes and player Y had 4, the inspector seers player Y and if Y is a wolf, now a wolf dies night 2 instead of a human/blue. Maybe there is some merit to having the enforcer seer dead players, but I don't really see how that would be worth sacrificing the chance to find, with 100% certainty, a living wolf.

For the new players (not me, I'm uhh asking for a friend) what is the difference between a guardian and a doctor? MafiaWiki says that a doctor can prevent a player from being killed at night, is a doctor different in that the ability can only be used once?
