hi19, did you look at the last Dragon Fury tournament? The pot was really big, and was more evenly distributed. Just about everybody got a substantial amount of credits due to the large pot. I was 1st place in D5, but I didn't get a million or near-million credits; the pot was weighted more evenly amongst the contestants.

I have been looking at that, and I had mixed reactions.
On one hand, I absolutely agree that anyone who manages to submit for all rounds will get credits. That's going to happen in this tournament as well, no question.
However I do like the feeling that if you win, you WIN. There has to be a reward for excellence, otherwise why have a tournament at all?

Anyway what makes you think it will be unevenly weighted? The prize for winning in tournament points will not actually be much larger at all than the second place prize due to individual round scoring- considering that whoever wins overall probably won the most individual rounds as well.
I have it planned out in that regard- the rewards for the tournament points scoring is going to fairly spread out, because the individual round scoring will take care of part of the "greater reward for greater accomplishment" aspect

Am I making sense at all? **** what am i writing

sorta had to read this two and a half times to get what you're saying, but yeah

I'm not implying that the prizes will be unevenly distributed. I'm just making an fyi. The winner-takes-all sort of distribution applies more or less to smaller pots from what I've seen. In the DF tournament however, everybody who finished the tourney got credits, regardless of their placements.

That's definitely going to happen here. Submit for every round, and you will be getting credits. Probably a fair amount of them too, considering how big the pot is.

Okay!
Welcome to the tournament, and the forums :P

I'll get back to you on the division placement in a bit, but at a glance D2B looks like a safe bet.
A handful of your scores on Very Challenging levels put you well out of the D1 range :)

I'll reiterate that the credits are not going to be handed out until the start of Round 1, when the divisions are finalized. Thank you for your patience.

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament

So I made this really cool file to a song many of you may be familiar with (Eh!? Sugoi, desu ne!)

But the only round this would fit, I already have a song for that division planned and now I don't know which to use.
*ah* the many issues with running a theme tournament.
Oh well, I hope you enjoy this preview anyway. If I don't wind up using this in the main tournament, the file will definitely be a tiebreaker file if such a thing is needed for the lower divisions.

If you're curious, it's 118 BPM and thus, it's either a very high 9 or a very low 10.
