Official MLB thread ~2014 Edition~

Football season is over and you know what that means...Its time to talk baseball. Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to spring training which means the season is almost upon us. What's your favorite team? What moves have they made so far this offseason? How do you like your teams chances this year? Discuss all this and more here.

Angels fan here. I'm really excited for this year, and i'm pretty optimistic about the team. Im upset to see Bourjos and Trumbo go, but i'm happy to see Bourjos go to Cardinals where he'll get plenty of room to roam in the outfield, and most likely a chance to play in the postseason. I'm also excited to see some of the bombs Trumbo will hit in arizona. I like what the Angels did to improve the rotation and i think it'll be better than people think. They also got some arms in the bullpen and David Freese, who is a nice improvement over alberto callaspo. I think if Pujols and Hamilton can get their shit together there rotation can be good enough to give them a chance at the playoffs.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little bit nervous about the Rangers.

Over the past two years their core has been gutted, having lost Hamilton, Young, and now Cruz and Kinsler. I'm not mad about any of those decisions; we couldn't afford Hamilton for what we were getting, Cruz got a similar treatment, and Kinsler's and Young's performances had just dropped too much. Also, we lost David Murphy, which wasn't hugely significant for the team, but it broke my heart.

The Rangers have put a lot of faith into their home-grown guys, which I love, but they've had to supplement greatly for the top of their order, and I'm not sure how well they did.

The Alex Rios trade was a good one. Short term, since he was just to replace Nelly during his suspension, but I wouldn't mind if we kept him a few more years.

Seven year deals for Prince Fielder and Shin-Soo Choo, though? Way too long.

If our rotation can stay healthy I won't worry too much about pitching, which is VERY weird to say as a Rangers fan.

If the Angels picked up David Freese JUST to be a knife twisted in our sides I wouldn't blame them. Here's to hoping Hamilton and Pujols have five more underperforming years ahead of them.

Not to mention one of your top rivals has Cespedes, Crisp, and Barton to deal with too.

I'm really sad to see the A's lose Balfour, he was a great asset to the team, but unfortunately they're pretty broke. Doesn't stop them from being a great team though, remarkably enough.

I think the giants are going to be an average team at best this season. After their horrendous season after winning the World Series in 12, I'm sure some lineup changes will be needed to
Stuff

Not to break your heart or anything but the Rangers are pretty much a ticking time bomb at this point.
