Every time I see a Bereserker song in the 'new songs' session, I want to curl up in the corner and rip my ears out.

Dunno bro, I'm personnally not overly into fake ass core music that is a lame excuse for actual metal. =P

I'm now at that point where I'm playing my file over and over just to reassure myself that it is still an OK chart.

I'm the only one who has confidence in my files.
Oh well, at least I am happy with them, **** everyone else, right?

But you CANNOT reject a song based on how much you like the song. For example, say I hate most Dubstep, Rap, Pop, and J-Core/K-Pop/aznboi-sounding music. *cough*

I can't judge fairly on that.

I have never rejected based on song choice, but I stress the outcome of your steps is greatly influenced by the song. Make of it what you will

Yeah I suppose that's legit. Some songs just have very little potential for interesting steps.
You can still make fun files out of nearly every song, but they might not be particularly innovative or necessary in the overall scope of the game.
There's already quite a few files in FFR that are just straight 8th rhythms, for example.

this theory of simfiling is truly the best (and I'm not being sarcastic when I say this) -- if you enjoy your files, then that's great because you've done your job as a simfile artist...

...other people enjoying your files is just a nice bonus. :)

Usually it helps to find any outstanding bad patterns. I personally found a handful of pretty bad patterns in a couple of my submissions this time.
