I'm actually hoping some rounds do involve a challenging song to sync. Maybe later in the tournament or something.
Syncing properly is a skill and there are actually sometimes multiple ways to correctly sync a song.
I'd love to see a song that starts in 4/4 then goes to 7/8 and people can choose how they want to deal with the time signature changes (or not), that kind of thing.

I know the old Dragon's Fury stepping contests just gave blank pre-synced .sm files to the contestants, which is another way to do it, but to me that's ignoring a whole important part of the process haha

We gave out pre-synced .sm files for the stepcon on FFR as well. Not that any of them had complex syncing to be done anyway.
