rip THQ

ign
wikipedia article, now featuring past tense

a sad time for fans of the beloved publisher of Ping Pals...

ok for real though, Red Faction was baller. I haven't played Saints Row 3, but it looks really slick. shame on them for jumping on the "gritty shooter" bandwagon with Homefront, though.

what do U remember fondly??? what do U think was not so great???

Just the IP, so don't get your hopes up. 4A is out of a job.

I never liked thq anyway :/

Re: rip THQ

And why is that? THQ publishes the games, other studios make them.

Oh my goodness, I REALLY hope that doesn't mean Metro Last Night will be frozen in production indefinitely. =/

Stinks to hear about THQ though. They've been having financial problems for a couple of years now it seems like.

More than likely not.

Last light but yeah I agree. I'm super pumped for the game. It has to be done or close to being done, so someone just needs to sell it.

No particular reason, I felt that most of their (published) games were just average titles most of the time, so there wasn't much to rage about or love. I'll admit that I'm biased since I was never one of their followers - I didn't play most of their recent games.

Hell, it is possible that I missed a great deal of gameplay for being close-minded, but I never heard people saying they were that great before they shut down, anyway. What I know for sure is that they didn't ever sting my hype-o-meter, so to me it's not an immense gaming loss like a Treasure, Platinum or Retro Studios departure would be (even though they made few games).
