What makes sm better Osu!?
 

I don't know why but sm just feels smooth and the note hits make sense. While on Osu! everything feels weird and kinda loose. It because of the engine of the game or what?

Hold release timing is not a bad thing. Do you just excessively hold all keys when you play the piano? We are all spoiled by SM's convenient freeze mechanic which induces wrong ways to play a music. This is terrible for music games. Also I wouldn't have to make minefields if SM had hold release timing

they're different games, and while they're similar, there's so many differences in mechanics and features for both sides that it's really just like "i personally prefer one or the other, cool."

if you're talking about osumania then it could just be it isn't as 'refined' as sm is. since sm has been around for a long time(2001) compared to osu(2007).
also osu is tryina run like 4 games in one client, gotta chill with that,,,

osu!mania has only been active since 2013 (was in beta for a little while before that)

and yea osumania has to share 3 other modes, as well as having to deal with a very small dev team that doesn't even have the original creator of the mode

that same creator left and made his own dumb vsrg

With the correct BPMs to not overinflate the difficulty even

Or speed mods that are goregous even

Tldr the game is better polished with higher quality files.

So basically we just have a better community that makes better files. Unless Osu is really shit with syncing and all (which I wouldn't be surprised honestly :V)

it's taken us a while to get rid of elitism


osu embraces it

and it's a shame because there's so much potential there. it's better in every sense of community aspects, gui, etc. sm had like 23894032809 communities at one point wheras osu is centralized in one spot and everything can be done in the client.

this is what i want to bring ffr to as well.
cause shifting through links and forums is tedious and doesn't appeal to many new players.
people like to find things out for themselves, and having everything in one spot makes it that much easier to explore.
guess i should stop being lazy and continue learning to code
