Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
This thread is for bugs or errors you find that don't deserve their own thread. Examples would be spelling mistakes, minor alignment errors on pages, etc. If you need clarification on whether your bug is big or not, just post it here and it'll be dealt with.

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Ok well, why is there CAPTAIN JACK in my lvlranks with rank 10,532 screwing my AvRank and I can't even play it on velo's engine ? FC bar and AAA bar aren't affected though, kinda weird...
|
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
it says "ffr videos" and other non-capitalized titles on the homepage.
Nitpicking, yes, but it makes it look more professional if it has little to no mistakes. Fixed. Thank you |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Opkiller, Captain Jack was apparently released to the public - Dance page 1.
|
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
CAPTAIN JACK seems a little early too, just sayin.
|
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
CAPTAIN JACK is almost like a "zombie" song. *nudge nudge*

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
it's vet's only for now, will be public in 1 hour.

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
I have a few:
- "/" errors on the descriptions of video pages. Example: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...hp?songid=7693 - Not really a bug, but there are 2 song links on the "FFR the Game" dropdown. Fixed the above. Thank you! - Extra spaces on profile dropdowns. |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
That extra space might be for SpinItUp stats, I noticed yesterday that there was this:
|
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Possible, but I see no reason for there to be spaces in the Forum Posts dropdown either. =o
|
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Point taken, I don't know the answer either way haha.
|
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Fixed a bunch of these. Thanks for your posts!

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
pictures are messing up. I go to this page flashflashrevolution.com/profile/xxxxxxx/photos and it shows the photo gallery of all the users photos. When I click on a photo so that i can see it closer and the url looks something like this: "www.flashflashrevolution.com/profile/xxxxxxx/photos/346641" the picture never loads and there's just a blank grey space where the picture should be. After getting to the blank grey page if i delete the numbers in the url and go back to "www.flashflashrevolution.com/profile/xxxxxxx/photos" it shows my photos instead their photos. I can look at my own photos just fine, but nobody elses pictures seem to be working.

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Not just you I have that same issue.

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Thanks for the quick fix on everything before, Velocity. :)
Gonna be more nitpicky now. A good chunk of this is just with page titles actually having a title that pertains to the page you're on. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/changelog/ -"Change Log" could go in the page title. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/videos/manage.php -Replace "Video Upload" in the page title with "Manage Uploaded Videos" or something that relates to the page. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/videos/stats.php -Same situation as above. Replace "Video Upload" with "Video Stats" or whatever works. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/FFR_low_res.php -Page title could say "FFR The Game (Low Res)" to differentiate from the main game. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/top_ten.php -"Today's Top Fifty Songs" could go in the page title. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/mostnumberones.php -"Most AAA Scores" could go in the page title, or maybe change the page to say "Top 100 AAAs" so it matches with the category name under the navigation bar. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/FFRTop1000.php -"Top 1000 Players" could go in the page title. -The link at the top that says "FFR Top 10 Songs" should be changed to say "FFR Top 50 Songs." Code:

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
"Last 50 Post" on the Forum Post tab should be "Last 50 Posts"
"Fav movies" and "Fav music" should be Capitalized on the M's. ("Music" "Movies") edit: I can't seem to find a post about the typo/messed up line of text I found earlier, so I assume you guys found it on your own. P.S. Thanks for all the hard work. |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Its not really a bug, but: The "previous page" and "next entry" do exactly the same. Just like "previous entry" and "next page".
Just leave one set. It looks better and its easier to navigate the pages. |

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
So I took these past few days checking every song on the FFR Song List to see which websites were still intact. Found a handful of artists based off their independant homepages, myspaces, newgrounds pages, soundclicks, and soundclouds as well.
*Regarding Newgrounds links, the majority of the well known artists on FFR such as cornandbeans & Envy have their links still working. Most of their old links have the actual audio link which now redirects to the artist's page. I pasted the link to their profiles on each of their songs just for neatness purposes. **Some songs may have more than one link added to them. I couldn't really decide which was more important (e.g. Silvia's Muzie's page & homepage or Spook's Soundcloud & homepage) ***last.fm pages have been added. Unsure if those pages would be alright to be listed since I couldn't find much else on those particular artists. ****Be prepared for many duplicates. Websites offline / Links in need of change or addition: Since those aren't really bugs, I have found a few alignment errors on the song list page itself. |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Since the top 50 songs page's url was changed, you're going to have to change the links to it on these pages:
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/FFRTop1000.php (And change it to say 50 instead of 10 on this page.) http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...1000lvlrnk.php Could be more elsewhere. |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Thanks Hammy. Those are done.
Wow, coolrun, that's one massive list. Thanks for taking the time out to go through all of those. Must have taken forever. I will start working on it little by little. |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
On FFRthegame, I noticed that when I'm using the detailed song search, and when I try to single out BB Evolution (5:00) It doesn't show up when I use "4:00-5:00" or "5:00-6:00". It only appears when it's those two together. I'm not sure if this happens with other songs, but I think it's worth fixing by probably making the search restrictions "0:00-0:59" "1:00-1:59" etc.
Also, to save a post in FFR suggestions: How about in the replays, where you can opt to either watch with your settings, the player's settings, or to change settings, I think you should have another box bringing you to that player's full settings, that way in tournaments and such people can check more easily as to what a person used to obtain a score, and to make sure if the host asked for a restriction, the tourney participant actually used the restriction. |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/levelstats_ext.php
There are 1100 songs in the game but that list only shows ~700 with both public and token songs being present. I see the latest released songs on there, so that tells me it's still updating itself to some extent. Maybe there was a point in time where it stopped for awhile? |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Well, I looked into it. It appears that levels only show on that list if the stats have been updated by looking at each level's page...wow

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
zzz..
You can see the BG of any song as a 2px line at the part where the Multiplayer Chat room etc and the main game connect (didn't want to make this one and the one above seem related) Also, is it just me, or are some lines of text unaligned by 3-5px in the Legacy engine? (they should be higher up than they really are.) |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
The "Z" in the Velocity Engine is cut off at the top.

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
I think that's just due to the font's style rofl.
Also, I'll likely be contributing to this thread soon in regards to some song genre renaming (e.g. some genres are too long so they're cut off). |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
I know a glitch that nobody else seems to know about. I would never report the glitch unless it was worth my while. I will report the glitch if someone sends me 100k credits. pm me if interested.

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
If you set an offset which is a decimal (e.g. -0.5 frames) no arrows will appear (velo engine).
EDIT: Arrows will never appear and the song will continue forever (past the end point) unless you hit boos. A fix could probably be implemented by a warning that tells users to set only full integers. |

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
A few minor things. [or, Alex is a grammar nazi part one]
On velo's engine, skill tokens are apparently genre "tweleve." You might as well change the text for First Try on the ST page to "Pass Legend of Zelda Remix" to stop all two of the people asking where it is. Change passing to pass [BB Revenge] "Chorus" is misspelled [Dance to Moroder] I suppose "Parachute" should be "Parachute (stupid clowns)" [Made in Innocent] "Eien Maikyu" [st page] should be "Eien Meikyu" [in-game] or vice versa "Genos Forest F-Zero", "Im Raving (B0UNC3 Mix)" should have apostrophes "Technostorm Hurricaine" is misspelled "Get an FC on" or "Get an AAA on" should arguably just be "FC" and "AAA" [too many to count] aaaaaaaand some even smaller things that I don't want to comb the entire page for. |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
On Velocity's MP engine the "try song again" button doesn't work. (I use it to play because the regular one doesn't load for me.)
Also on the MP engine I see this glitch where it replaces the engine build from (right now) Subin to Undefined. Everything still records fine but I don't think it's supposed to do that. One more thing. The MP engine constantly will go "You are connected to multiplayer" to "No longer connected" or something of that sort after like not even a minute. |

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
A few combinations of mods and scroll types don't work as one would expect. Either that, or they are not consistent. For example, in the Velocity engine. If you have the mini setting on, on the up/down scroll type the arrows are always small, but on the left/right scroll type, the arrows get smaller as they approach the stationary arrows.
The tornado effect doesn't work with the left/right scroll. In the left scroll, I can't seem to hit any of the arrows and there's random arrows just "peeking" out at the right side of the screen and then disappearing. On right scroll, there's this stupid as hell boomerang effect where some of the arrows move toward the stationary arrows and then "boomerang" back in the opposite direction. Also, my average rank in the Velocity engine shows a different number than the average rank on my levelranks page. |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
When watching replays, if you click on "open settings" before starting the replay, there seems to be no way to close them, therefore making that function a nuisance more than a tool :p.

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
I just played Trisection and I have a comment to make about it: Hiroshi Sakimoto should actually be Hitoshi Sakimoto. But even moreso, I'm not sure his name should be included at all in an arrangement. I don't think any other arrangements include the original composer's name and I think this is the typical behavior when crediting the arranger for a work. For example, I played Ska de Chocobo yesterday, and it is by the same arranger, Glome, but Nobuo Uematsu is not credited even though he is the original composer. I think this is the correct way to credit an arrangement and Sakimoto's name should probably be omitted altogether, if not spelled correctly.

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Two things.
One, a plethora of ST grammar errors, minor or otherwise, that I caught. Still not finished, by the way. And second, after you've just played a song on Velo's engine and you sort in-game levelranks in ascending order of rank (i.e. your worst at the top) it does weird stuff. It's kind of hard to explain. |

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Um well this is a bug I've been seeing but didn't know it actually did anything.
tl:dr: I can access secret songs I don't actually have. Edit: Not that I am complaining. A few more notes: 1. Running gamebooster. 2. I still earn all my credits. 3. Scores still record and such. Edit2: appears/disappears at random. After I typed my last edit It was gone. Shoot. |
Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
Okay, I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but.. Either way.
I'm friends with this person, as you can see: And they have their profile set to private: Since I'm friends with this person, I don't think I should be seeing that. Just figured it might as well be posted. And according to the person's whose account that is, he's see it even when he's logged on his own account. |

Re: Bugs that don't deserve their own thread
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet and just in case nobody has.
#1: You can't open the dance section from the first time you load up the legacy engine until you change sections and go back. #2: VROFL song preview doesn't load up. |
