Thanks guys! Every day I look at myself I don't really notice a difference in appearance but when I lift or run that is when I really notice the progress I've made.

Thanks again for all the support guys

I have some before pictures and shirtless progress pictures that I've been taking but for me I don't really see much of a difference. I think it's a mental thing for me though because everyone says I've changed a lot.

Re: wv's Progress Thread

I kind of had to put a stop to my running because the fires in socal have made the air quality worse than it normally is and it makes running outside difficult for me. I'll been using the stationary bike as my cardio workout which is boring as fuck but w/e I'll deal with it for now. I tried running on the treadmill but I get really bad shin splints from it so I gave up on that. I tried increasing the incline to help simulate running on pavement but it didn't help. I don't understand how people do it lol.

I've been really working on improving my bench and squat. Doing 3x5 at 160 for bench has gotten easier, I don't need to pause so much in-between sets. I also did 2x2 at 180 which I didn't think I'd be able to do.

Today was my leg day and I managed to do 3x5 at 190. Super stoked about that.

Also lost 4 pounds since the 27th so holla.

The best thing about working out and losing weight is that I no longer have tons of ingrown hair on my thighs. It looked like I had tons of pimples on my legs rofl it was bad. I don't think you can really see a change in my body since I started but I can finally notice a change in my face and I like it.

Recorded myself doing a set of 5 for 200 for squat. I ended up doing 3x5 at 200. I'm going to be sad when the beginner gains taper off lol

I h a t e treadmills. They fuck up my knees and shins every time no matter what and I think it's because of the way they rattle. A 1.5 incline on a treadmill pretty closely simulates the amount of wind resistance you'd get from running outside, but it doesn't make it not destroy your knees, and injury is a really common problem in running.

Ellipticals are really good in terms of a low impact way to hit your target heart rate. They get boring so I focus really hard on pushing myself when I'm on them. I also highly recommend rowing machines (ergometers) if you have one around as a way to mix in other cardio with running. Stairsteppers are also a good mixup as well as stationary bikes.

When I have to do cardio inside for long stretches indoors I find that mixing up the machines I use every day like that helps keep things interested, keeps a good variety of muscle groups in shape, and keeps me from overstraining certain parts of my body.

Also check out if you have DDR machines around for a hella good high intensity interval sport~

Yeah I usually go with the stationary bike and stair stepper. Planet fitness doesn't have row machines which is lame because I like those. I'm not a fan of elliptical because that's probably the most boring thing for me haha.

We have a couple of good ddr/itg cabinets near by but I can't really afford it lol. On the plus side, the air quality is better so I'm going to start running outside again
