Submitting Event Ideas

So far, surprisingly, our appearance for Animarathon, Saturday, April 14, is looking pretty damn good. Still, however, there is the list of complaints and legions of people who cannot attend due to the location of our first event.

Well, here's your chance to maybe change that. Like said in other threads, the public showing at Animarathon can be considered as a "beta test" of how attending events will fare for us. Thus, if things go well for us on April 14, then we will defnitely be motivated to carry on with other event appearances. So, here's your mission if you want us to consider having an official FFR turnout at an event near you: Post details on an event you would to see us at.

The criteria:
- Animarathon is planned as the first public appearance and we will be reviewing results such as attendence, revenues, etc. Thus, we will not be considering any events that will occur before May 1.
- Please post the name of the event, the date(s) it will be running and a link to the convention or event's official Web site.
- The event must have some sort of demographic FFR is tied to such as gaming, anime, Japanese culture, etc. If there is anything that resembles a tie to FFR, it is fair game. But, on the other hand, obviously we are not going to attempt to make it out to a automobile show or something.
- Unfortunately at this time, we will not be considering events outside of the continental United States (excludes Alaska and Hawaii). Canadian events are a definitely possibility in the near future and if other countries build enough interest, we may expand even more. But for now - one step at a time.

For now this is a means to judge interest and gain ideas. Obviously, we will not be able to attend every single event people will want us to but every event that meets the above criteria will be investigated and given consideration.

Thank you for your interest as we venture into this new avenue.

isn't E3 in LA? I doubt ffr could get a booth there though.

There should still be a way to go as a developer though. I mean, that is the point of E3. It's an exposition companies use to display games, not the freaking convention everyone turned it into.

The big Montana Meetup v2 is coming up. Is everyone in FFR coming this time? George will probably be there again and same with Calico_1.

It'd be easy to set up a booth for free.

Maybe FFR could contact G4 Tech TV, and ask them to air a comercial on FFR. If they do the many people watching will go, that looks like fun and try it out. Like How Stepmania got a spot on "Call For Help" on G4 Tech TV. Lots of people started playing after they had seen that.

Just a suggestion though

If FFR is looking for an event in Canada, specifically Toronto, Anime North would be a great option. This year it runs on May 25-27 at the Toronto Congress Centre and every year it seems to have a huge turn out. I attended last year and they had a big demo room for DDR and ITG and Stepmania. IF FFR is looking for an event this is it. Just a suggestion.
Thanks!

I think there's an anime convention in NJ sometime in June, but I have to check first.... It'd be AWESOME if an FFR convention was there!!!

A-kon up in Dallas, Texas is fairly big, I hear.

We could probably get something going there, it's still early enough to reserve something. Hell, it's something I could go to.

Maybe I'll even do like a live set or some **** like that.

I would like to see something on the north-western part of the states.

I wonder if you guys can come over to the 50th state for that convention, Its cool here.Lots of people play FFR here too!

A anime convention happens here in springtime, Its only once a year, I believe its at the convention center here.
I am pretty sure for where to head if I hear news about FFR having a booth in it sometime.

yea. Sadly E3 is closed to the public, and even if it wasn't, it would be VERY expensive to get a booth. I'll definitely put some research in about LA conventions. I'm sure i can find one that will work.

After a little Google search:

http://www.animazement.org/

Dunno if that'd be doable, but it's an idea. End of May, Durham, NC. I found the link from http://www.fansview.com/consked.htm, which has lots of ideas.

Yes, definitely something in Canada.
When I get older and richer I'd definitely attend.
4 years in Toronto, guys. I'd totally fly there from Saskatchewan, since I can't think of any gaming convention at all here.

http://www.fansview.com/consked.htm

A site I found with dates and locations of anime conventions

NOTE ALL THE TEXAS EVENTS:
April 27-29, 2007 - Anime Matsuri, Houston, Texas http://www.animematsuri.com/
June 1-3, 2007 - A-Kon, Dallas, Texas http://www.a-kon.com/
June 22-24, 2007 - El Paso Anime Con, El Paso, Texas http://www.utep.edu/asu/epac/
July 13-15, 2007 - San Japan, San Antonio, Texas http://www.san-japan.org/
August 3-5, 2007 - AtsuiCon, Houston, Texas http://atsuicon.com/
August 24-26, 2007 - RealmsCon, Corpus Christi, Texas http://www.realmscon.com/
August 31-September 3, 2007 - AnimeFest, Dallas, Texas http://www.animefest.org/
September 22-27, 2007 - FanimeCruise, Galveston, Texas http://www.fanimecruises.com/
October 5-7, 2007 - Shimakon, South Padre Island, Texas http://www.myspace.com/shimakon
Video game live concert:
June 20-21, 2007 - Dallas,Texas http://videogameslive.com/
July 13-14, 2007 - Houston,Texas http://videogameslive.com/

And one that has already passed:
Jan. 27-29, 2006 - Ushicon, Austin, Texas http://www.ushicon.com/

Now, with this many conventions here there are bound to be plenty of anime/ddr in Texas which have the potential to become FFR freaks.

Now, in particular I like RealmCon (which I didn't know we had), because not only is it in my town, it's two days after my b-day. Now how great of a b-day gift would that be to have an ffr convy in my town? I would still go to about any convention held here though, except maybe in El Paso. That's the hell of a drive.

Lol ,I just realized that on June 4, I will get my own drivers liscense! I'm more than willing to give people in the near area rides if it were to come here.

FFR-->Texas

I've already contacted the Staff of Nekocon in Virginia about FFR and I'm just waiting for a response.
