I was only joining in on the fun, sorta killing me that a lot of the judges think that a big chunk of the songs were bland hope I'm not in the mix lol anyways back to waiting on the notes. Cheers to everyone who took the time to take a look at the files and some time out of their daily routines.

The notes will be up by the end of this week. Maybe Friday.

I don't reject files just if they're bad, I reject them if they're not good enough. And really, song choice unfortunately is a huge factor for a file's potential. Stop stepping dumpstream songs with 16th hi-hats for 2 minutes. This isn't 2004 fellas

Pr0 h8er. Though my notes may upset some, I'd invite you to send me a pm if you have any concern about your file's judgment. I recall some people not understanding why files were rejected and I couldn't reply a few batches back.

Hey, those files were fun in 2004, they can still be fun now.
Fact is, FFR has way too many ~artfiles~ and not enough fun simply patterned stuff. When your options for low FGO JS files are Pants, Pants, or Pants, perhaps we could use a few more.

I actually rather non artsy files, most of mine are simple. There is a way to make good easy js files, but when the whole file is a huge dumpstream, I hardly see any quality or effort involved

Effort. That's the word we were all looking for. There has to be effort given in every dimension of the file - its sync, patterns, etc. Without effort, what you often get are dumps or jokes which aren't worth it :(

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Submission Closed)

I don't really care about effort, I care about results. Some of the most widely enjoyed, classic files had about zero effort put into them. FFR's Vertex Beta was made in about 10 minutes, I know because I saw Shash do it. It's still one of the most played VCs in the game and is considered a benchmark for streaming skills. Simply put, it's a really fun file that fits into FFR very well.

It's all about results. Do people enjoy the file, is it properly synced and fit into the overall scope of the game? If it does I don't give a shit how much effort was put in, it's a good file.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Submission Closed)

Shash is also an FFR Legend. lol

But I do get your point. ;)

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Submission Closed)

It was one of the most played vcs because at one point I unlocked on oni lol
Some quickly stepped files can be fun but for the most part when you rush a file its noticeable and the file suffers. To get results you put effort that's how it works

Yep. We should have some unlockable mid-high FGO dumps.

You missed Pants. How could you possibly forget that one?

Gunkienen Tarusuigin? pretty sure I noticed some people saying that they thought it should have been an 11, so it can't be that high... (granted, it's a bit denser than your normal jumpstream)

still... it is notable issue, there really isn't much else
