Windows 7 over XP?
 

I currently use XP and considering buying Windows 7. I have heard the problems you get with ffr from Windows 7 and it has given me second thoughts.

Is it worth it? Should I buy it?

Over all, W7 is better, but there are lag spikes in it no matter how much ram/processor you have. If you're going to use it specifically for FFR, XP is better. If you want it for the other stuff, it's worth it. Better feature than XP. XP runs smoother because it isn't as complex as Vista or W7

XP ftw! XP is way better for Stepmania and FFR. People say it's the same ****, but they're wrong, W7 still lags on FFR and Stepmania doesn't have as much fps on w7 as XP does. SO XP for rhythm games and W7 for everything else

If you turn your theme to the classic windows 98 theme then windows 7 dominates xp in my opinion. ffr doesn't lag once you disable the aero theme and transparency effects and other animation effects.

Except W7 takes less resources than either of them. Win7 never lags for me while doing anything. No idea what you're talking about with these lag spikes.

W7 has been pretty nice for me so far. Liking it better than XP.
