It's been a while since I released an update of this. The object database I had hoped for didn't fall through and I ended up not placing much importance in this project.
So, after many delays involving laziness and a lack of focus, the newest update has come out with a new thread as well!
The latest version's new features include:

FEATURES (8/31/2015)

-FileDrop interface (this is the big one!)
-Drastically cleaned up code with an all-new way of reading .sm files (.dwi not supported yet)
-Title bar shows length and number of arrows
-y-axis labels changed from font 14 to 12

I don't know if it would be worth making the NPS Generator support .dwi files. It's an outdated format that not even the FFR converter uses anymore, and only older versions of Stepmania are able to generate them.

Also blanky I wanted to thank you for this tool as it made determining the 89+ difficulty files for the upcoming Special Batch much faster even if an older version was used.

Eclipse isn't on my computer anymore (reasons) and I'm lazy (partly because of school, partly because of stagnant FFR). But as with the song compilation project I have not forgotten about Dossar's request to export length/notes to a text file.

Some work in improving the NPS generator would include switching to kernel density estimation if possible to eliminate "aliasing" in note streams -- an example of this being a 200bpm 16th stream that alternates between 13 and 14 nps. Another improvement would be the whole thing with the foreign characters and the like.
