Does MP judge harder?

So Ive played a few games in MP, and I noticed that that I was getting an obnoxious amount of goods and averages, even though I was 100% sure I was doing it right, so I recorded 2 scores of the same song played back to back in mp then single player. There wasnt any lag for me either time so its weird.

So I was curious is maybe MP had a smaller timing window or something or is it just my comp? If its my comp, help please lol.

MP:

Single:

Neither are good but its just a test.

I don't think so, even though I do terrible in MP anyways.

Interesting. I never really considered the fact it could be slightly harder judging. I'd like to see an admin/coder's input on this.

It's nothing more than lag. Since the return of the site pretty much everyones been finding ways to reduce lag for single player, let alone MP, which runs even more intensively obviously (great wording but you know what I mean).

Playing MP on a standalone would probably fix this but I'm pretty sure that isn't possible yet. Reducing your speed mod will reduce lag somewhat, but of course lowering your speed mod will more than likely screw up your reading/pa.

tbh i can't say for sure it's lag, but I would imagine so, it seems just as it did back in the day when I used to get ****ty PA on every song in MP but could go into SP and AAA w.e w.e. however it seems to be effecting a lot more people now (everyone..)

I always thought the receptors were slightly more off on MP.

The MP does require greater processing, as basically it's playing single player twice (as in it shows two sets of arrows, playing the same song), as well as keeping live stat tracking of you and the other player, etc. So anyone who has any mild lag normally would definately experience lag on MP. I personally don't experience lag on MP, BUT I play on a computer that litterally is used ONLY for playing FFR and other heavy processing stuff without lag.

So most likely it IS lag because I have yet to see this problem on this computer...but I have experienced MP differences on my other computers. Might not be that your computer is INCAPABLE of handling FFR MP, and you can probably fix it by doing various lag prevention procedures (best for processing, standalone, game enhancer programs, etc.)

I play MP on the standalone all the time by the way. It isn't anything different from playing normally. Well, aside from the fact that MP is on a different .swf address: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...erway_5238.swf

Would probably be a little less laggy for people if they made the "full MP masking" option actually get RID of the second set of arrows instead of have a black screen cover them.

I was always pretty sure it was harder to do well in MP myself, but it may have been lag. I always just considered it due to lag, anyway.
