TWG CLXXV: Survivor Newfoundland - GAME THREAD

TWG CLXXV: Survivor Newfoundland

48/24 Phases
OOTC: ON
Night Talk: ON
Voting: PM ONLY
KITB: ON
Players: 12, 16, 20, …

Roles
Survivor Superfans - These Survivor players have a true love for the game. Their desire is simply to outwit, outplay and outlast their competitors and prove themselves. Their objective is to preserve the integrity of the game by voting off the Saboteurs and survive to be the sole survivor.

Survivor Saboteurs - These Survivor players are vying for fame and fortune, and do not have the deep respect for the game needed to be a true superfan. These players will create fake storylines for reality TV, create fake drama for the cameras, and do not allow the heart of the game of survivor to shine. Their goal is to win the million dollars and become the sole survivor.

Game Mechanics
Each day phase, players will compete in challenges in the form of riddles. There will be two challenges per day phase: one for reward, and one for immunity.

Reward Challenge
The reward challenge will involve solving a riddle or puzzle. The first player to correctly PM the answer to the host will receive a reward. This reward will be an advantage in the form of a one-shot power. The player who wins the reward challenge must use that power during the day or following night phase.

Immunity Challenge
The immunity challenge will also involve solving some sort of puzzle. The first player to correctly solve this puzzle and PM the answer to the host will receive immunity, and can not be voted for during that day phase. The player who wins immunity will be announced in the thread immediately. If no players have solved the puzzle by the end of the day phase, no one will receive immunity for that phase.

Hidden Immunity Idol
Within the confines of this game, a Hidden Immunity Idol lies dormant. The Hidden Immunity Idol will be difficult to track down, but once found, can grant you complete voting immunity for a single voting phase. After that, the Idol is gone for the rest of the game.
Where is the idol? Good question! It’s not an easy find, but there will be hints dropped to it as the game goes in if someone hasn’t found it. Maybe you can find it right now and everything you need to know is in the opening post? Who knows!

Tribes
Everyone will start on one of two tribes which will be assigned randomly. Each tribe will have a discord for members to chat amongst themselves. After the first day phase, the merge will happen and a “main beach” discord will open.
Players are allowed to speak with any other player and are not restricted to speaking with tribe members.
Tribes are meant to encourage out of thread discussion and tie in the theme of the game. If you wish to ignore the tribe aspect and only interact one-on-one and in the thread until the main discord opens, that is fine.

Voting
Voting is hidden! If you would like to submit a vote, you must do so by PMing TWG Jeff Probst with your voting candidate.
DO NOT post any votes in thread. They will not be counted. Discussing votes is permitted, just don’t use [twgv] tags in the thread expecting to cast a vote.
Once EOD has been declared, a 10 minute NO POSTING phase will be called as votes are counted and read one-by-one. All submitted votes will be randomized, so their reading order is completely random.
If an insta is reached before all votes are read, the rest of the votes will be thrown away

Survivor TWG Quick Tips
-The starting tribe you are on is not public information, but has no disadvantage if other people know what tribe you’re on.
-The rewards, immunity challenges, and the immunity idol are up for grabs for everyone. Who you’re willing to coordinate your searches with are up to you, but just know that all of the Saboteurs will always be working together to solve them first!
-Only the first person to send a PM for a reward or immunity will receive it. If you coordinate as a group, you'll have to decide who submits the solution for the reward.
-Don't expect a normal TWG when playing this game. All sorts of skillsets and talents will be challenged to find out who is the true ultimate survivor!

Re: TWG CLXXV: Survivor Newfoundland - GAME THREAD

Welcome everybody to Survivor Newfoundland. I'm glad you've all received your invitations. This season of Survivor is like no other and will go down in the history books. Never have we had a hidden team playing against the rest of the survivors, but as you know, Survivor is full of twists. Among you there are 4 Saboteurs ready to take the game away, but maybe, with some effort, you'll prevent that and take the game for yourself.

First, we'd like you all to get to know each other. Each of the two tribes has its own private beach, but you're free to communicate with each other as you see fit.

Next, here are today's immunity and reward challenges:

Today's reward is a power of grand scale. However, to get the reward, first you must progress through a challenge. Today's reward challenge is the highest score on the song "Buddy Holly" on Weezer Jam Session. Please send your highest score with a timestamp to TWG Jeff Probst.

Wanna know what you're playing for?

A one-shot vigi

As always, one of you will be grasping for the immunity idol. Today's coveted immunity challenge is to draw the best rendition of your tribe's shelter using Paint. Please submit all of your wonderful creations to TWG Jeff Probst through PM.

The reward and immunity challenges will close at 2:00 PM server time on Friday, January 19th.

Day 0 will end at 10:00 PM server time on Friday, January 19th. Please send any and all votes to TWG Jeff Probst.

Let me tell you, my survivor island strandees, let me tell you of a tale of my own self-preservation and survival. A tale of mystique and wonderment. A true epic saga of my own self-fortitude for the sake of preservation and survival.

Let me tell you of a crazy night at a fearful, dark place, held right in the deep, dark jungle known by the natives as Toronto, or in their own tongue, "Trawna", at a gathering of people with coloured hair and halloween costumes in May, known as "Anime North".

Now this all starts with myself, fearless as I am, getting carried away from my safe and humble abode outside of this dark jungle. I arrived on mechanized carriage, and from which I eventually departed into the masses. It was dark when footdown was met, and dark it remained in my own mind. Much was unclear, other than the many unfamiliar faces and distinct prevalence of conversation.

Now, this was well and good, until I was eventually brought back to the "Hotel Room" where there was suddenly a... you guessed it, WOLF HUNT. It was then that I had to fend for my own life and survival to deduct who was secretly a wolf.

Through thick and thin, however, I was able to masterfully recognize the wolf amidst the crowd, and save my fellow comrades from a mauling come night. And it is this that I was able to escape Trawna and flee to my homely abode.

I feel I can apply this experience here once again, my fellow tribemates. God bless, let us all reconvene and accrue information, with myself, the Wolf Slayer, as your shining silver sword.
