FFR's Live Stream Thread~

Figured a thread like this could have quite a few benefits, including a place to easily find and view any users' FFR/SM stream, and discuss what's going on in them, etc. Keeping the post updated for each time someone is streaming would be nearly impossible, but each time someone is streaming it wouldn't be too hard to just post and let people know.

To be added to the list, all you have to do is post your stream name/link, as well as a general idea of what you're streaming. That way people will know where to find you and what to expect whenever you start streaming.

My setup is pretty much using Xsplit + FME (Flash Media Encoder). But you can just use Xsplit for the most part, FME for me is just something extra that makes it less CPU stressful.

Xsplit though is not free. You can still use it though in its trial version, but it's limited. Limited as in you can't have a high resolution (Anything above 720p), and can't have more than 25 FPS (Which is fine since 25 is close to any movie's 24 FPS.).

I'm assuming you're going to use Justin/Twitch, Xsplit will give you an option to connect your Justin/Twitch account to Xsplit allowing Xsplit to talk to the server so you can start streaming away.

That should be the basic thought on how to start streaming. But when you stream, please take in account on the audio and adjust accordingly so that game audio doesn't over power your voice if you're commentating.

Someone willing to give me a tutorial on this streaming stuff?

I may stream myself playing FFR, CF, or online math tutoring if anyone needs it.

Ooo, this is kind of cool, lol, by the way, streaming this message. Though no one is watching, Dohohoho.

I mean, it is kind of hard to entertain people when it's pretty much arrows going to receptors. But hey, who knows? Might be good background sound if you're busy with something.

it's called commentary while playing and/or being on cam while you play.

Re: FFR's Live Stream Thread~

this should have been done ages ago

the most obvious next step is to find people who can consistently stream (this and having a good quality setup trump player skill) and create a featured streamers section easily visible/accessible from the front page

this would allow new players an observers familiarity with the game as well as direct access to the advice of veteran players without having to leave the site or brave forums/the idiocy of prochat

also streaming doesn't have to be pure "entertainment"; as long as a streamer can be informative without being stale people will watch

ofc this requires some amount of effort and dedication from a number of people and, well,

status

quo

Until I get a better internet connection and camera, I wouldn't mind streaming.

Usually playing Mario Kart Wii, either worldwide races or time trials. Might play other random games too, but not likely.

watching aj is hilarious and really entertaining. streaming is nice because it gives the average player a way to hang out with the pros, or just other players in general. also it's nice for someone like me who doesn't usually stick around long enough to get to know anyone lol *total creeper*

+1 to more people streaming please
