Updates from last week: Batch - As an update for Songs of the Week releases, regular releases will be scheduled for Sunday evenings unless otherwise noted. - There are no updates on the items listed previously, and I understand things have been a bit slow. Next weekend is my spring break, so with that in mind I can start catching up on some more Regular Batch items. - There have been several pending fixes sent for files and those changes should be documented accordingly later this week (most likely the weekend). - The March/April 2017 Regular Batch is open. Because of the small number of submissions for the January/February 2017 Batch, that batch period will be skipped. Files that were submitted for that period will be rolled over to March/April 2017 without taking any submission slots from the user. I will however state that the majority of submissions are incorrectly formatted; when sending submissions, please follow the proper submission format specified in this post. |

Updates from last week: Batch - There is a large update with regards to planning this time around, in addition to some released reviews. - I've asked the primary judges for assignments related to the three sets in the September/October 2016 Regular Batch, and Set 3 in that batch period is assigned to myself. - gameboy42690 finished judging July/August 2016 Set 6, with results in this post. - DarkZtar should be able to release his notes on July/August 2016 Set 3 and his assigned Pending Fixes for pre-November 2016 Conditionally Queue'd files this week. When Set 3 in July/August 2016 is finished, that batch period is completed. - Gradiant finished his assigned Pending Fixes for pre-November 2016 Conditionally Queue'd files. - The March/April 2017 Batch Period has been updated with submissions up to March 11th, and also includes the files transferred over from the January/February 2017 Batch Period. Note that files transferred from January/February 2017 do not count towards the user's submission cap. - For anyone with Conditionally Queue'd files in the Token Special Batch, you have until April 1st, 2017 11:59 PM EST to submit fixes. One chart out of five currently has a Pending Fixes status. - The most recent updates for Conditionally Queue'd and Pending Fixes files can be seen in this post. |

Updates from last week: Batch - Songs of the Week was passed last week to plan the next few upcoming weeks. Songs of the Week will resume again this week, and after this week's release there will be Bi-Weekly Song Releases (every two weeks) for the time being. - DarkZtar finished his assigned Pending Fixes as described in this post. - I finished judging September/October 2016 Set 3, and the two other sets are still unassigned. - I would like to give another reminder that anyone with Conditionally Queue'd files in the Token Special Batch, you have until April 1st, 2017 11:59 PM EST to submit fixes. - Gradiant has stepped down from a judge position. Sometime down the road, applications for judges might open again although this has not been determined yet. |

Updates from last week: Batch - Songs of the Week resumed last week, and will now be Bi-Weekly releases. The next release is planned for next Sunday. - One Winged Angel has decided to step down from a GM position. - Currently I'm very busy with my academic projects and I definitely will need this week to dig deep into them. I'll be presenting my senior project some time in April I've got to arrange the next few weeks to plan it out smoothly. - Like mentioned in last week's update, applications for judges might open again in the next few weeks. Currently planning is a high priority to deal with the current simfile backlog. |

Updates from last week: Batch - No update on my end, although please make sure to go over to the Offset Discussion Thread to provide input on recent releases. The task list is the same as last week. I may need to take a break at least for this week to focus on my projects in this last month of the semester, so I might not end up doing a weekly update next Sunday. - The Bi-Weekly Songs of the Week should continue this week. |

Updates from last week: Batch - Judge Applications are now open until April 30th. These applications are high priority, so please take a look at this thread if you're interested in becoming a judge. - If you haven't already looked at the Offset Discussion Thread, please stop by and indicate what offsets you have been using for song releases. I've listed my data on the 30 most recently released files and I noticed variation that differed from other posts, so specific songs will help determine consistent song releases when it comes to their offset. - Songs of the Week has been postponed for the time being. |

There are still two more weeks to submit applications, and details are mentioned in the thread. - Feel free to leave some feedback about your offsets for recent releases in the Offset Discussion Thread, and play the November 2016 Public Sets in the meantime. - When it comes to reviewing the judging applications, there might be a possibility they could start tomorrow but there are no guarantees. |

Updates from last week: Batch - Today is the last day to submit Judge Applications for Phase 1. Details are mentioned in the thread. - Today is also the last day to submit to the March/April 2017 Regular Batch Period. - Going to the previous weekly update, this week is finals week for me. Last week I finished giving my senior project presentation, so I'll be focusing this week on finishing up final exams and then when the weekend comes around I can finish Phase 2 for the current judge applicants. - On another note: Thanks everyone for your patience. Judging activity should increase after this week ends, and I'm hoping that Songs of the Week can resume in the next few weeks. |

I am done with final exams and moved out of my dorm, and will take a break for a few days before getting back into the swing of things. - Because of the small number of judge applications, they might re-open in June. Updates from last week: Batch - Early update this time around because I'll be busy in the next few days. - The April 2017 Judging Applications are finished, and we now have two new judges: James May and trumaestro. - July/August 2016 and September/October 2016 are now finished, leaving the November/December 2016 and March/April 2017 batches remaining for the Regular Batch Periods to judge. Currently November/December 2016 is in the process of being assigned. - Conditional Queue still needs some updating, so I'm planning on getting to that after my interview Wednesday next week. I'll be taking a break for a bit. - The May/June 2017 Regular Batch Period is open for submissions. |

Updates from last week: Batch - trumaestro finished November/December 2016 Set 4. - Only Set 3 in November/December 2016 remains to be assigned now. - Conditional Queue has been updated as described in this post. - The next step is to finish November/December 2016 and then possibly continue Songs of the Week on Sunday, June 4th. I'll be going to Anime North from May 25th through May 28th, so next week there won't be a weekly update; however, the plan is the same. |

The most recent release thread can be found here. - Judge Applications for Phase 1 end on the 30th for anyone else who is interested. - gameboy42690 is done with his Pending Fixes, although some of them await review by another judge due to a special case. - When it comes to Pending Fixes, I might be able to get to those this coming weekend. I'm getting back up to speed in terms of health. - At some point in the near future there will also be files for the public engine with the 2017 regular batch files, as the active sets subforum only has one active set left from 2016 (the last 2016 set). |

Congratulations to Wayward Vagabond for re-joining the judgment team! - Concerning my review of gameboy42690's Pending Fixes, I'm hoping to get to those Monday or Tuesday. - The charts for March/April 2017 are now on the public engine. You can see the four sets in the Active Sets subforum. - Because of the low number of submissions for the May/June 2017 Regular Batch Period, those submissions are being rolled over to July/August 2017 which is now open. |

My focus is on a few other side projects at the moment and I am moving into a new apartment this week so I am pretty busy this week. Updates from last week: Batch - Finally I have internet at my apartment! - March/April 2017 Set 2 was assigned to James May, who technically has finished the set but with a [PASS] that needs to be resolved by another judge. - March/April 2017 Set 3 is assigned to DarkZtar. This leaves Set 1 and 4 unassigned for that regular batch period. - Concerning the Batch Search Engine, it has been updated with the recent releases and accepted files. If I missed something, please let me know. Note that July/August 2017 is open for regular batch submissions. - I've planned the next two Bi-Weekly Releases and I'm going to be on a hiatus for several weeks to do a site redesign for Crossover Spectrum and possibly the Batch Search Engine; I'm definitely going to seek cheaper alternatives for hosting and this will be my primary focus. |

I made some more progress on the Crossover Spectrum site revamp and it's giving me more confidence about the possibility of revamping the currently Bolt-based Batch Search Engine site. The next song release is planned for Saturday, August 19th. I also want to mention that the July/August 2017 Regular Batch is open until August 31st. |

I wasn't expecting to get back to a friend's house on Monday at 3:30 am from Champions of the Coast and still not be home, so I'm very behind in many other things right now. I'm focused on catching up and postponing this week's Song Release. My goal is to go back to normal weekly updates with the upcoming weekend, I just really need to take a step back and plan out how this is going to work. |

Updates from last week: Batch - A large Batch Search Engine Update was done, and Conditional Queue has been trimmed down to 0 files, with 6 files under Pending Fixes. Later this week I'm planning on assigning these 6 Pending Fixes to judges. - March/April 2017 Set 2 is still in the situation with a [PASS] file that needs to be resolved by another judge; that will also be assigned along with the 6 Pending Fixes mentioned above. - The new Crossover Spectrum site has finally been deployed today! There is some more work I have to do this week in relation to that site as I've opened signups for the Crossover Spectrum Official Tournament. - Concerning the Bi-Weekly Releases, they're planned to continue on Saturday September 16th. - The September/October 2017 Regular Batch is open for submissions. |

Updates from last week: Batch - As mentioned in the previous update, I'll start doing updates every two weeks now. For around two years I've managed to do updates almost every week, which I surprised myself with although it's starting to become counterproductive/too short of a time interval. - There are currently releases planned for September 30th, October 14th, and November 11th. Because I'm planning on retiring the current BSE site before December this year (more information in the next update item below), PrawnSkunk and I are planning to reach out for help with some of my current tasks for a more sustainable approach. - My plan for October is to work on developing a new Batch Search Engine site that will be based on django instead of Bolt, also providing better performance and a more customizable interface. Because of this anticipated development effort, I'm going to be reaching out for some part-time help with some of my current tasks to allow me to better focus on that development and put some weight off my shoulders as currently this is not sustainable. - James May finished his Pending Fixes as described in this post, and has also been assigned with March/April 2017 Set 1. This leaves one unassigned set in March/April 2017 (Set 4), and Set 2's passed file is to be resolved by gameboy42690 as mentioned in this pending fix post. |

Updates from last week: Batch - The passed file in March/April 2017 Set 2 was resolved by TC_Halogen (reassigned) and the notes for that set were posted. - March/April 2017 Set 4 was finished as well. - The thread for 2017 Regular Batch Results was created, and can be found here. - This week I'm thinking of setting up the July/August 2017 Regular Batch submissions on the public FFR engine and making the corresponding Active Sets threads, and then start with migrating the current BSE site next week. Because the Crossover Spectrum Official Tournament was postponed, that will give me some more time to focus on the migration. |

This batch period is in the process of being assigned. - trumaestro has one file left to judge in November/December 2016 Set 3, with a passed file that will need to be resolved by another judge. - Starting in early November I'm planning on restructuring the BSE site to django, which may require a bit of a hiatus for me to focus on it. It's going to be more complex than the Crossover Spectrum site restructuring. If the site will need to go down I'll give notice in advance. |

Updates from last week: Batch - There was a special Halloween Release with two regular songs and three token songs. The next planned regular release is on November 11th, and upcoming releases after November 11th are in active discussion. - September/October 2017 as a regular batch period did not receive enough song submissions for a regular batch, so those files will be rolled over to a future batch period. There may be a regular batch freeze for this year when I plan on moving the BSE site from Bolt over to django; if the ffrtools site needs to go down I will give notice in advance. - Any song submissions sent for November/December 2017 might be rolled over to January/February 2018 for the reasons stated above without any submission cap slots taken. I will be leaving to SoCal today and won't be back until after Thanksgiving. Concerning releases, there will not be a Thanksgiving release. The last song release for this year is planned to be on Christmas. There will also be a batch freeze and the current BSE site will be taken down in around a week. More information will come on that at a later time (there is a plan I have in place as a result of the batch freeze to get the revamped site up and running). |

The rest of December will be focused on the following items: - Development of the new BSE site - Christmas Release Development of the new BSE site As planned, the Batch Search Engine link is down. Use this post as a reference to the current Accepted and Conditionally Queue'd files. It may be the case that some of the information in those pictures are not entirely up to date, so leave a comment in the Rules/Submission Guidelines thread if you find this is the case so that information can be updated after development of the new BSE site is finished. Concerning the development process of the new BSE site: 1. Take down the old BSE site 2. After having a DB backup of the most recent BSE updates since 11/23, extract the DB data in a more usable form 3. After getting the data in the format I want, I can plan what the new site's DB will be like 4. Plan the new site's layout and pages 5. Do some testing on the new site and then make it live on dossar.me The first two steps are done as of this update. Steps 3-4 I aim to take around 2-3 weeks, and then Step 5 which concerns testing the new site will take a few days. The new site will be on the dossar.me domain when it is finished. Right now there is only the Crossover Spectrum site on there. Christmas Release The last release for this year will be December 25th (Christmas). It is being planned with the current accepted and conditionally queued files in mind. |

The previous update gives the roadmap for the last two weeks of this year, although I will clarify a few more things. Development of the new BSE site Concerning the development process of the new BSE site: 1. Take down the old BSE site 2. After having a DB backup of the most recent BSE updates since 11/23, extract the DB data in a more usable form 3. After getting the data in the format I want, I can plan what the new site's DB will be like 4. Plan the new site's layout and pages 5. Do some testing on the new site and then make it live on dossar.me Steps 3-4 are being done at the same time, and I do have the outline for page layouts finished as well as the structure of navigating the site. The database schema I have drafted but need to incorporate into the site now. I may be able to finish this by Christmas. Upcoming Releases The last release for this year is Christmas (December 25th) and then there will be a New Year's Release. |

Happy New Year! The last release of 2017 was the Christmas Release, and there was also a New Year's Release today which marks the first release of this year. With respect to the batch, January/February 2018 is now open with the release of the new BSE site on 12/31/17. Any submissions sent before today will be put into January/February 2018. Information about the BSE site release can be seen in both the front page post and the changelog thread. For the next two weeks my focus will be on planning the roadmap for the first three months of this year in relation to the batch and the BSE. |

Up to the end of March, the first quarter roadmap is a good reference for upcoming updates. There were several bug fixes applied for the BSE site described in the changelog, Release v2.0.1 Songs of the Week will continue in February, and the January/February 2018 Batch Period is open. The next two weeks will be focused on finding a way to have staff add songs to the BSE besides myself, and having the judgment team pick up remaining sets in 2017 again. |

Up to the end of March, the first quarter roadmap is a good reference for upcoming updates. Songs of the Week has continued with the February 3rd release, and there is an upcoming Valentine's Day Release. BSE development has been put aside for now. In terms of judgment, July/August 2017 Set 2 and Set 4 have been finished. Wayward Vagabond has been assigned to Set 1, leaving only Set 3 remaining for that batch period (and the last set in 2017). |

- The March Releases have been planned out. The most recent one was March 3rd with the next one being two weeks after, on March 17th. - July/August 2017 Set 3 was finished, and July/August 2017 Set 1 reviews might be available this week to close out that batch period. - The original judge for November/December 2016 Set 3 has been contacted again and by next Saturday if it is not finished I will go ahead and do the remaining work on it. - Concerning passed files, James May will be resolving Ants of the Sky in November/December 2016 Set 3 and DarkZtar will be resolving Solar Overdrive in July/August 2017 Set 2. - The January/February 2018 Batch submissions have been compiled together for a total of 21 files. Specific information is in this post. - There was a large Batch Search Engine update with the details in this post. This also introduced 6 new files into Conditional Queue/Pending Fixes status, and the post also includes a link to the BSE page for January 2018. - The 2017 Regular Batch Results thread has been updated with the most recent results. - March/April 2018 Regular Batch submissions are open. |

The song release will be then instead of today; usually song releases are on Saturdays every two weeks. The 2016-2017 regular batch periods are finally completed for main judgments and passed files, although there is a backlog of Pending Fixes to be addressed. We're one batch away from being completely caught up! January/February 2018 was recently split up into sets. Similar to what happened in January, these next two weeks will be focused on a roadmap for April through June and that will also cover topics like Batch Search Engine updates. Up to the end of June, the April to June Roadmap is a good reference. The Early Release Special Batch is now open until the end of June. More information on it can be found in the thread. Concerning May releases, the next two releases are planned for Mother's Day (May 13th, Sunday) and Memorial Day (May 28th, Monday). The Official Tournament 12 Batch is going to be the major focus for the next month. The Early Release Special Batch is still open until the end of June, although the Official Tournament and Pending Fixes will be having priority in the current situation. Because of the focus on the Official Tournament Special Batch, the releases are going to slow down to give a chance for the GMs to look through what will be suitable tournament material. The upcoming releases will be Memorial Day (Monday, May 28th) followed by another on Father's Day (Sunday, June 17th). |

James May posted his Pending Fix reviews. The BSE update from today provides a nice summary of what has happened with the Pending Fix files, and what will be happening with the Early Release Special Batch in terms of the May portion. The Early Release Special Batch is planned to be done in two parts (May and June), and it isn't reflected on the BSE yet since it requires assembling the files into sets and March/April 2018 will be replaced with the Early Release Special Batch. For the Official Tournament 12 Batch, the submissions closed May 31st. The Early Release Special Batch is open until the end of June. |

The Early Release Special Batch May submissions (including transfers from the March/April 2018 regular batch) have been split into two sets of 5 files each. Set 1 is assigned to DarkZtar and Set 2 is assigned to James May. June submissions for the Early Release Special Batch are still open until the end of June 30th (11:59 PM EST), and those will be assembled into sets to judge after that batch closes. Song Releases are postponed for now, with the focus being on the Official Tournament Batch and Early Release Batch. If after several weeks there are not enough Accepted files, regular bi-weekly releases will continue if the Official Tournament is not in session. |

The June submissions for the Early Release Special Batch are now closed. To summarize, the May section had 10 submissions, and the June section had 21 submissions. The files and how they've been split up into sets can be found in this post. DarkZtar finished Set 1 in the May section of the Early Release Special Batch. Anyone who submitted to the Official Tournament Special Batch should read this post, as it contains information on checking the status of your submission to that batch. James May finished Set 2 of the May section of the Early Release Special Batch, finishing the May Section. The June section has 4 sets, 2 of which are currently assigned: - DarkZtar has Set 2 - Wayward Vagabond has Set 4 There are three accepted files from the May portion of the Early Release Special Batch, although song releases will be postponed until there are more accepted files in the June portion. I took an unofficial break from rhythm games in general. For July as a month, there were many different events that took place. Over the next two weeks I'm anticipating a BSE update and getting the rest of the June portion of the Early Release Special Batch assigned. I'll also look into what remaining Pending Fixes there are. |

Last few weeks have been really busy for me, although I'm aiming to get the other two sets in the June section of the Early Release Special Batch assigned. A large BSE update was done, which also included putting up the Early Release Special Batch. As of now, the May sets are completed and one June set is completed. There were two oustanding pending fixes that were resolved. DarkZtar finished judging Set 2 in Early Release June 2018. |

The status is basically two weeks ago but with a few more updates. DarkZtar was given Set 1 in the Early Release Special Batch June section, which leaves Set 3 to be assigned. At some point in the near future, there might be a week-release event. |

The St. Patrick's Day Release has happened and there has also been a large Batch Search Engine update where you can find information in this post. With the most recent BSE update, that puts the Conditional Queue at 17 Pending Fixes and two files are in Conditional Queue waiting for Pending Fixes. |

For anyone curious about the Official Tournament Batch, there was also an update given from TC_Halogen that you can find in this post. The focus right now is to get the Pending Fixes over the finish line, and in May possibly open up another batch (this is not set in stone yet). |

When it comes to the regular batches, what's currently being wrapped up are initial judgments for the Early Release Special Batch. Goldstinger currently is an associate judge that has looked at both Set 3 and Set 4 (in the June section) and those reviews are receiving feedback from me to polish them up, which initial feedback was provided for Set 4. The 12th Official Tournament signups are currently open, and the current queue of Accepted file submissions is being reserved in the meantime. I will be in Cape Cod for this entire week, although in the near future (and if there's downtime) I will consider developing some sample different layouts for the FFR Batch Submission Site in an effort to eventually deprecate the current BSE site (which is separate). All files submitted to the September/October 2019 regular batch that have been submitted thus far have been downloaded and will be put into sets to receive judgment. The batch will remain open until October 31st. A new special batch has been opened to gather holiday-related theme files. Checkout the thread for details. Gradient has taken over judgements for set 2 of Jan/Feb 2018, Gold stinger has taken over set 3. Set 1 and 4 are complete. I've also started cleaning up and adjusting the submission rules thread. Information should be mostly up to date now, but will still be making some edits to format and check for any other outdated information. |
