Re: Easy Song Special Batch - Submission Open

I'm just about done with my file now, just the last few final touches and I should be finished by the deadline with time to spare. I think my file will probably be a 6 in difficulty.

Sent in another one!

Does anybody know when this batch will be judged & when these files might go in-game if accepted?

I'm wondering about this myself.

Third and final song sent. Totally a 1... or low, low 2.

That's up to you to decide. It depends on the placement and length (e.g. five-arrow trill vs a 16-arrow trill), amongst other factors. With level 6 songs, a lot of things can apply actually.

I think you'll need to set your arrows offset to 2.00 seconds, or just move everything back 2 seconds in DDReam. :)

If you use Audacity to add the 2 second silence, note that the program automatically adds a very small (0.04s?) amount of silence as well for some reason. When you readjust the gap in Stepmania, it's not going to be just 2 seconds. It's 2 seconds plus a tiny bit. This small amount usually amounts to a single F11/F12 shift extra.

The batch will be judged once submissions close after May 31th. When will you see the files in-game? Don't know; just wait and don't have expectations on a certain time.

140 bpm 16th streams = definitely 7, so it depends on the length of 16th.

My advice: Aim for low-6 if you want to make easy-medium one, then the file will be safe.

I had to wait 2 months for Automata, AJ once had to wait 6 for a song of his, and I'm pretty sure some people have waited far less than that at the same time to get their songs released. All I can say is send your file and don't stress about when it'll be in-game just yet. That's going to be a surprise :)

There's no way to say when a particular file is going to get in game. There's still a whole batch of files not released. Luckly for those of you submitting for this batch they will be mixed in with the other one because there was so much hard stuff in the other batch an almost no easy stuff. But on the downside anyone waiting on files from that batch will be waiting longer. Anyways, you guys are just going to have to be patient things will get in as they get in. I'm still waiting on my chart too and I had sent it in Feb.
I don't know how long JX is going to give us to judge this one I wanna make a guess at 2 weeks since it's an easy song batch but then again if there's like 100 files in there it could be more like 3 weeks. But I don't know for sure. Just gonna have to wait and see.

Skeletor took a few years to get into the game... And that was even after multiple revisions. Just be happy if you do get something into the game, when should not matter than much.

Back on track, I realize that there is only 1 more day for this deadline, but I'm thinking about throwing something together to submit. I'm thinking about an easy 1, more as a joke for me but probably something fun for brand new players. I'll have to see if this pans out or not.

You've seen the file by now, but they're like 10 notes long. I'd say it works out to about a medium or high 6 or low 7, with some knowledge of similar songs in game. Blank Knowing (medium-high 6) has staircases about the same length at 180 BPM and nothing else above about a 4. Tetris Remix has 16th streams about the same length at 157, plus some simple jump patterns, and it's a (very) high 7...and I guess there's no point defending my case.

Wah.. a few years for Skeletor to get into the game?

I guess I'll just forget about it (and let it come as a surprise if my files somehow go in-game) :)

it wasnt sitting in the queue the entire time though

if we are measuring total step and revision time then la campanella too a year to get in game and it took a quick death 2 years

Don't confuse yourself with the Tass era and how we manage files now. Files are released on a much more timely manner these days. Also, Skeletor was in the queue right as FFR died for a year, so you have to take that extra "year" into account.
But before thinking about how long it takes to get a file in the game, the file has to be accepted first of course...

P.s. my files aren't done, spent too much time working and doing other things, I can still judge though.

That did play a large role in why it took so long, but even after it was accepted, it still took ages for everything to just fall into place. Or maybe it was just because it was never clear when the file was accepted and placed into the queue. I probably should have made that a little clearer.

Wait, are the files due by tomorrow, or tonight, because earlier Bmah said the 30th, but the OP says the 31st.
