http://www.youtube.com/my_playlists?p=99308302E6A33BE7

This is a playlist I made a while ago of police abuse. 126 videos in all, some no longer work.

I will post links to the best cases.

Part one of five.

In the early afternoon of September 8, 2005, police encountered Fouad Kaady shortly after he was in an accident that left him in shock and bleeding, burned over much of his body. Rather than calling for medical help, the police commanded him to lie on the pavement, even though they could see the burned flesh hanging from his body, and even though they said he appeared to be "in a catatonic state." When he did not comply with their orders, but instead continued to sit on the ground in a daze, they tasered him repeatedly. And then, they shot him to death.

On November 5, 2003, police raided a high school in Goose Creek, South Carolina, in an effort to purge the school of drugs. After rounding up the students and searching their lockers, no drugs were found and no charges have been filed.

School and police cameras captured officers bursting into the school hallway and waving their guns at students. As you will see in this video clip, police pointed guns at the students' heads, handcuffed them, and made them lie on the floor or kneel with their faces to the wall while an officer with a drug-sniffing dog searched backpacks and belongings.

Man is told not to sit down, sits down anyway. Is tasered then told to sit down in the same chair.

Video of peaceful protesters being shot be the police. Also shows the police laughing about it.

Undercover investigator asks for a complaint form and gets his head smashed into a plexi-glass partition in the police station lobby.

Two Police Officers bring a suspect into an elevator and think they can take his handcuffs off and have as much fun as they want beating and abusing a suspect with no consequences. Wrong, these officers are caught on the elevator camera.

No, because it's not police ABUSE. And there's plenty cases where the media parades around the heroism of cops or high-speed chases.

The media does not cover the abuse as often, though.

I'd be willing to hazard a guess that a large amount of police officers choose their profession for the power trip.

So I guess watching your basic rights be erased is "extremely dumb"?

One thing you'll never see on video is a cop getting beat up. It happens quite a bit, too.

Some cops abuse their power, but it's less than you'd think given the media attention it tends to get when it happens. Especially with half these taser incidents, you're not given half the information and the media portrays it at abuse when it isn't.

There is always someone that abuses their power in just about every job position in the world. However, most cops are good cops, and they're your best friend when something bad happens to you.

Something these people that keep having problems with the cops should probably watch 8)

Just because a few do it, and I mean a very few do it, doesn't mean they all do it, it's like if I said all Germans are Nazi's. Like Reach said cops are usually your best friends in bad situations. The only people I see hating cops are people who usually get booked a lot for doing stupid ass things they deserve it (getting booked I mean).

Those guys are dicks.

You know how in the doctoral community you have to take that Hippo Oath or whatever? Why not something similar to bushido, the samurai code? They certainly didn't abuse their power.

Sad times.
