Help me clear my gaming backlog

Welcome all. So, to get right to the point, I have a total of about 400 games (give or take) in my collection, not including any games downloaded from steam. Most of them I haven't even played due to the overwhelming amount that i look at everyday, others have save files sitting on them that I just never got around to finishing. I decided to buckle down, and with the help of the FFR community, beat each and every one.

Now I know the 1st question will be," what games do you have?" To answer that, I'm providing a link noting each game and if I have beat them or not. For the time being, I'm starting with a clean slate, meaning even though I might have beaten it in the past once before, I'll probably go through it again. Also in the doc, I will have which games have already been requested if you do not wish to dig through the thread.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

Some games I have more than 1 version of, so when choosing, let me know which one. I will not play more than 1 version of a game unless it has enough extra content in it. There are game collections( sly cooper, dmc, loz) in my list so when looking at those, let me know which one you want me to play. Also, depending on, I might use old save files as long as I actually remember where I am in the game and what to do. (I say this because I have a FFX file on my ps4 that is sitting at Sin from about 6 months ago)

After each completion, I will rate the game, and tell what I liked and disliked about it, along with a picture of the actual game/system and image of sort showing that I indeed beat the game. Some games I am not sure then try to start the next game. The purpose is for me to beat each one, so I may or may not go for 100% because as we all know, some games can take forever to do that.

Thank you all in advanced, and I hope to get some bites from yall. To kick this off, I'm starting with Donkey Kong Country (SNES)

IMPORTANT NOTES:
* Assuming I go home right after work and take a shower and get settled, I can dedicated about 6 hours a day to this endeavor. Weekends prove a little trickier since I have my kids then.
* Games will be played on the default difficulty.
* I will try my hardest to stay away from using any types of cheat codes/glitches or devices unless you give me permission to use otherwise. *coughcoughbattletoadscoughcough*
* I personally do not see using walkthroughs as cheating, so I may use those if needed.
* There are some games that allow me to choose who I want to play as (i.e. racing, fighting, platformer) If you want me to play as a certain character, please say so when choosing or I will pick whoever.
* There will be some games in my collection that will have N/A in the completion slot. These games are probably party games, or have no real sense of completion when seeing credits.
* When possible, I will try to have 1 console and 1 portable game being worked on. I enjoy playing portables when I'm on the toilet and when laying in bed ^_^
* If you have a specific end game picture you want me to snag, let me know

I will edit more when new things come to light

Game #1 - Donkey Kong Country

Likes: it was a good old fashioned platformer. didn't have to worry about puzzles. nothing too difficult, although i did have 1 game over. plus the ending credits were fun to watch. also, thr soundtrack is nice

Dislikes: too short both level wise and as a whole. total game time finished was 2hr 21min.

Best of luck to you man, gonna take some time. 1 down, ~399 to go.

I'd like to see you beat any of these:
• PS2 - Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3
• GBA/DS - Any Pokemon game (preferably HG but ruby or sapp are also good imo).
• PS3 - Portal 2

Duuuude Threads of Fate is in that list.

I loved that game but almost no one else seems to have heard of it- not that it's without flaws.

Thank you :) As you can see, I will be at this for a while, so once I am done with your game, please feel free to add another one.

Thank you to those who suggested. I will hop on the next game.

You gotta play Chrono Trigger for snes OR ds. It should always belong on a top 5 games of all time list. The DS port has extra dungeons which can be tedious, but you'll appreciate having more content after playing through that game.

I'm also a huge fan of Metal Gear Solid and Xenogears for psx. Grew up with a lot of jrpgs so anything with a strong story is something I'd recommend.

I've played the ds port and beat all the extra stuff when it 1st came out and sold it soon after lol. As of right now, im about to go into the 6th dungeon on Zelda. The 5th kept giving me shit and I kept dying lol.

Game #2 - Legend of Zelda
System - NES
Requested by:Celirra

Likes: Vast overworld for what it was. Didn't have to really backtrack.

Dislikes: If it weren't for the fact I've played this before and retained some memory of this, this game would have been a pain in the ass. Dungeons 7, 8, and 9 would be almost impossible to locate without spending unknown amount of time burning and bombing every single square (7 at least had a hint). Didn't like the idea behind arrows costing rupees to use instead of actually buying them. Died a total of 17 times..... damn wizards

Dragon Warrior (Good luck with the grinding ayy)
DuckTales (If you don't have the Remastered one, the original on NES is acceptable as well)
Life Force

I'm surprised you don't have Marble Madness or UniRacers (that unicycle racing game for the SNES) on that list D:

Man you got a lot of classic RPGs on here. If you have the time for it, Breath of Fire IV is definitely worth it :) So good.

DuckTales and Life Force should'nt take long. The RPGs are what I am most dreading and looking forward to.

played and beat 1, and got to the end of 3 before my ps3 died on me and lost all my save files. If you take the time to add all the games up, you can see that I've invested quite a bit lol.

One of my favorite games. When this launched, it blew me away visually.

Game #3 - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
System - PS2
Requested by: Sickufully

Likes: The soundtrack. Had some tracks I didn't like so I just turned them off. Has a variety of levels, each with its on theme and goals.

Dislikes: You had to replay the same level over and over again, half the time dedicating 1 run just to complete a goal. The skate competitions were a pain also. Getting flawless runs on top of a high score became a pain at the end.

Likes: Pretty much everything. The puzzles weren't too hard, giving you a little bit more and more each time. GLADOS and Wheatly are what makes this game worth playing each time. Plus the lemon rant ;)

Dislikes: Seeing how Iv'e already played this a few times, I blew through most of the tests fairly quickly. Some I had to remember though. Also wish it was a little longer and gave more back story to what exactly went on.

I will go out to say that it took longer to beat due to Halloween and a friend's birthday.

Likes: Solid RPG with a good, straight story line. Nothing was ever too hard and didn't have to grind away to overcome any boss. Music was by Nobuo Uematsu, which is one of my favorite composers. Has plenty of replay-ability do to its multiple endings.

Dislikes: Felt like it was too short. Even with leaving the game running while eating or using the bathroom, and doing all the side quests, I was done in just over 20 hrs. Even with a decent story, seemed to me like the characters were not that developed and didn't give enough to have them grow on you. And with the whole time travel, feel like there were many plot holes and things that didn't add up. Could also just be over analyzing things.

And yes, I know a triple post. Due to the nature of this thread, it is bound to happen. If enough people can come and comment and talk about the games while giving me their pick, that would be great. It'd be nice to share the experiences with them.

Game #6 - DuckTales
System - NES
Requested by: James May

Likes: The theme to the Moon level and how quickly you can beat a level once you learn it. Oh, and the cute little boss battles at the end of each stage.

Dislikes: EVERYTHING ELSE! 3 hits, you die. Die thrice, game over. 6 stages total, and once you learn the mechanics, you can beat this in under 10 minutes. C'mon Capcom
