2014 World Cup Brazil

Who all is gearing up for the World Cup? Starts in a little over a week. What group stages are you all looking forward to the most? Who's gonna take it all?

I'm going with the ever popular opinion that it's either going to Brazil or Spain. However, I'm cheering for USA, Japan, Germany, and South Korea (lol).

I dunno about USA's chances to get out of the group stage. Jurgen Klinsmann has yet to find a good back line, and even Nigeria was able to exploit it in the last friendly. Also, Jozy Alditore needs to be more selfish and take a shot if he's got one, especially with the Landon Donovan snub.

I doubt USA will make it out. Germany and Portugal likely will move on from group G. Ghana even has a better shot IMO.

We are 6.5 hours away from the first match of the cup, Brazil vs Croatia.

On a more serious note, the amount of not-prepared Brazil is for this World Cup is pretty hilarious.

You know the politics of it is bad when the World Cup expenditures have got Brazilians protesting about not wanting soccer

Brazil banned the sale of alcohol at football games because of all the deaths from rioting and had to pass special legislation to allow sales of beer this world cup, because Budwieser is a massive sponsor of the tournament.

Just linking it over here
http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/groups/

Anyhow, time for predictions.

Group A: Brazil & Croatia moving on
Group B: Hmm, tough choice but I'd go with either Spain/Australia or Spain/Netherlands
Group C: Japan & Ivory Coast. Not too fond of the Colombian Team so the second slot is a tossup between the two.
Group D: England & Italy
Group E: France and Switzerland
Group F: lol this group. Argentina and Iran (I honestly have no idea about this group)
Group G: Germany & Portugal (Sorry 'murrica)
Group H: Belgium and Russia (I find it funny how they named South Korea as Korea Republic lmfao)

We'll see how brackets go...

I like having world cups in my time zone. Last year was no fun at all.

Noon, 3pm, 6pm, that is a schedule I can get behind.

Forreal how much do you think that ref will get after the game

Re: 2014 World Cup Brazil

Realtalk though

If you think about it

That ref being shitty probably saved Marcelo's life

If Brazil had LOST that game due to an own goal, he would have been killed before he could leave the country
