Memories of '08/Resolutions for '09?

As the year comes to a close, everyone undoubtedly has moments that are noteworthy. The point of this thread: What's something that you may have done that is noteworthy? Or could it be something that someone else has done? Was it an FFR memory, or was it something more personal? Was it Shash's return to brilliance that stuck out in your mind for '08? Or possibly the heated political feud amongst the community come election time? Maybe you had a resolution to make yourself a better person by improving yourself physically/mentally.

Post any memorable thing that you may have done in '08 that you want others to recognize.

With the new year also about to begin, there are also many resolutions that people are planning to follow--and things that people want to be changed. Again, list something you plan to do for yourself in '09 (can be an FFR goal if you'd like), or something that you want to see changed (optionally, also FFR).

PLEASE. KEEP THIS THREAD WORK-SAFE. That's all I ask.

Really think about your choices. A year-long commitment isn't the easiest thing to do, but may be something very fulfilling.

I started Matathon:Eternal. I have yet to beat it, as I just downloaded it a week ago (however I'm already about 2/3 of the way done, lol) but it's a sweet game.

This year I finally got over insecurity and forged new relations, hooray
also this year I joined FFR

This upcoming year I resolve to move out, and stop being so easily persuaded into going places I don't want to. I also intend to take a different approach to my asthma -- I feel that at this point, I should probably try to decrease my dependency on my inhalers and become more self sufficient. I will find means to facilitate both goals. Also, overall improvement of wellness and knowledge, but as I'm always doing this making it a resolution is a bit silly on my part.

I seriously started studying Japanese(spare time) and French(At school).

I got a laptop that's SRS BUSINESS.

Read/Watched more manga and anime than ever before.

Starting going to badminton.

Had a sweet victory over my scariness about horror games, now Doom 3 and F.E.A.R is just something I play for fun.....

And finally, I've planned what's going to happen in the future. I'm thinking about going to Japan as an exchange student.

Yeah.....that's about it I guess.

I'm with you on the Italy one icecubez. I might be going to Florence around March and I can't wait. It will be a great opportunity to expand my artistic preferences and maybe learn some tips about art. I would also really love to learn some Italian there. Such a pity they don't offer it at my school, it's a beautiful language.

As for my resolutions the main one I have is to make varsity swim team. Other than I'm still not sure.

Re: Memories of '08/Resolutions for '09?

I broke up with my girlfriend which was my worst decision this year.
I asked her for forgiveness which was the best decision. I've realized this is the person I may spend the rest of my life with.

I learned how to cook a little.

I made a new friend.

I joined a local gym as my 2008 resolution and have gone consistently for the past 11 months and even hired a personal trainer. This past month hasn't been so great since I was so busy with work and school, but I have been in the best shape of my life this past year.

I am planning on raising my GPA next semester, entering into a half marathon charity sometime in the spring, and keeping my girlfriend happy.

My long term goal is to graduate on time by catching up on my credits. I need to start thinking about my future if I want to start it.

Overall this was a good year. I want to make this upcoming one even better.

Keep talking Quigly. I don't see you making any efforts on FFR besides trolling every single post I make.

And stick to the topic. Happy New Years.

I'm just saying that you should make a more realistic resolution. For example: I want to get an average rank of 100 or get 300 AAA's. You have to take small steps to make the goal that you want. Saying that you want to be the best, while a nice thought, is simply unrealistic and you most likely won't make it in the short period of a year. I'm sorry but it's true.
