I love to eat chicken and dumplings - must be a southern thing I suppose. You can use dark or white meat. This is how I prepare it. You'll need....
8 chicken thighs
A big pot
10 tortillas (I love carbs)
Salt and pepper
Favorite seasoning
A stove
A can of cream of chicken

Take your pieces of chicken and make sure the skin is peeled off. Put them in a pot of giant water and put plenty of salt and pepper in it. Then you can add as much seasoning as you want. Put the top on the pot and set the heat in low. Let it sit for about 2 hours. Once it's completed, add your can of cream of chicken. Cut your tortillas anyway that you like...I like to make nice thin strips. Stir well for about 5 to 10 minutes while the pot is still being heated. Let it cool off after the stir and enjoy. You can use biscuits instead of tortillas or even add vegetables to the mix if you like. Enjoy

Cilantro lime chicken breast. I put this on a skewer with veggies and grill it sometimes too.

Simple blackened chicken is good. Also basil chicken and coconut curry made in a slow cooker.

Full chicken leg(s), the ones with the thigh, skin, bone baked over top of sweet potato pieces, temperature and heat depend on size, how much time you have to let it bake (low and slow is usually best). Salt and black pepper to taste. Turn the sweet potatoes at least once while baking, twice is best. No need for oil.

Incorporating some panko crumbs into a chicken breast recipe can be really nice. Adds a great texture to the chicken.

Sounds like a sweet outdoor-summer type of meal.

Might try this come May.

1. steal an entire bag's worth of the Polynesian sauce from Chick-fil-a, like I'm robbing a bank and gold bars are their Polynesian sauce

2. heat chicken

3. use Polynesian sauce on chicken

I cook mine in the crock pot with a jar of salsa and half filled with water and it's AWESOME!!! It shreds super easy and you can put it on a salad, in a tortilla, in a sandwich.

i know this is late but i cut chicken into spoon sized bits then submerge the chicken halfway with a mix of water, olive oil, soy sauce, pepper paste, and vegetables all in a wok

and then i let the water evaporate slowly and refill with a cup of water after 15 mins and let that evaporate too

what's left is a tender mix of veggies and chicken

then i dump freshly cooked rice on top and eat it with a lettuce wrap or something

Starting to enjoy salmon more than chicken. Cooks faster, taste great, and isn’t heavy on the stomach.

How do you get salmon at a decent price though. I can get like two and a half lbs of chicken here for 8 dollars. I think that much salmon would cost $30-40 :(

This is the exact brand of what I buy from Costco. 3lbs of this is around 15-16 dollars. So...I usually spend a little over 30 to get 6 lbs of this stuff.

That's ridiculous.

Never seen that at Costco before.

I'll have to pick it up, that's a great price if it's true here.

Could be a Canadian thing though.

Re: How do you like to prepare your chicken?

I'm glad you asked. I prefer to cook chicken by either boiling it or roasting it on a fire.
I think that boiling meat or food is the all around most efficient method of cooking, seconded by an open fire which tastes the best.

I like to rip the skin off, grill it until it's abit chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside, flake alittle salt and feast on that. The meat I feed to my dog.

I cook like 7 at a time in the oven, which is a weeks worth. (Skinless, boneless, fillet)

I will typically get my other protein from Hampton House chicken strips, which are massive white meat strips you can buy at Costco and BOI lemme tell ya

Now thanks to you I have a new chicken recipe. I'm skipping the whole veggies thing and also just dumping on salsa. I found your recipe online but for some reason posting the link denies me from posting (Spam avoidance maybe?)

i go to allrecipes for like, everything. I'm trying to make more home cooked meals...

Is it?? I have a can from GFS sitting in my cupboard and after testing the canned pulled pork I'm too afraid to try. Is there a brand you like?

Thanks! We changed to BJ's (Used to be Costco but the one by us is wayyyy too busy for our liking) so I will see if they have anything similar there.

A chicken is never prepared, that's why it's synonymous with cowardly.

..a creamy leek soup sounds like a nice way to compliment a dead bird imo, i got hungry thinking about what to type and the time i spend typing could be spent cooking. good thread i give it 1 / 1
