I'm trying something quite symphonic currently...
I don't know how I'll introduce it nor how I'll continue it.
I have a fear of redundancy. I'm not really made for pieces that are meant to be pure notes blrargh
Still I like to try composing pieces like that.

The intro seems a bit weird
liek you're changing key half through the whole part before getting back to normal.

Second part is super good as always
Love your bass work.

Re: Music Works In Progress Thread

yeah i was thinking of adding 2 chords to divide the last chain to transition into the key change

I was just experimental with the chords for it. the original doesn't use the same at all haha

You really need to add some chord progression during the intro 'cause the melody sounds off in a bad way during that part.

Also just as a heads up nothing you ever make will ever top Bad Apple just because you make it better because that's not how it works and it's annoying as hell. It's almost all about free publicity which is something you really don't have much control over :/

This is something I've been working on for a little while, and I kinda don't like the way it's going. I, however, think that it's worth working more on to make a song. What do you guys think?

Daang Icarus, that shit was tense.
Btw, if I wanna start making music on ma computah, what programs do you recommend?

Re: Music Works In Progress Thread

Ableton or Pro Tools. Fruity Loops gets a bit boring to use after a while. Might upgrade to Pro Tools eventually.

New WIP, .Α.Ξ. , might try to complete this by next week.

FL studio has the friendliest GUI and is capable of doing basically everything the other programs can do
It's not a good DAW for recording arts though haha, i'd recommend ProTools if you're trying to arrange stuff that you're recording

I used FL Studio in that song.

I use FL Studio for all of my songs. There is nothing wrong with it. Everything that protools does, FL can do, it's just a matter of the way it's done.

If you are just starting music and are thinking about making it a hobby, I would suggest FL Studio because of what OHD said.

However, if you are planning on pursuing this professionally I'd jump right in to Ableton because that's what everyone ends up using anyways. And this is coming from someone who doesn't use it haha.
