Re: Music Works In Progress Thread

http://soundcloud.com/thesapphiredragon/usherftpitbull-djgufila-wip I really can't work with Usher's vocals. Have you even heard the autotune. I almost didn't start this. Some site told me the bpm was 124. It was 120.

After the drop, I stopped working on it, so it's still a huge WIP. I lost all energy there.
edit: oh cool, I'm so dumb I emailed a korean label about a position +demo.

Nice alternate chord progression and no minor/major conflicts, mixing could use a little work but you'll get that over time

Not sure if done, but it's so far complete. There's probably a lot more I could do to it. :s

That's pretty sick. I haven't really been into that kind of music since it usually all sounds the same or relatively similar, but even noting that, this is still sick. Always been a fan of your work.

I post here too much. At least I'm not making new threads every 5 seconds like last year.

Started this this morning (like, 3 hours ago).
Obviously not done, but I decided to give this a shot cause I was bored and died in Morrowind and hadn't saved in a long time so I ragequit and opened FL out of habit of seeing my desktop.

Alright, forgot to bring the 0.9 version of Spectrum bootleg, but damb, it's REALLY good now. Might be uploading it later today if I go to my sister's.

Ohaider. I didn't take your suggestion. No such thing as sidechaining. Sorry.

my third (not sure if actually) completed track, just started out making music and I really like it! was not sure what genre it would be labled so I made it progressive house.

Re: Music Works In Progress Thread

@m3t4, It sounds like the bass is disrupting the natural balance of the song with the kick build-up. Make sure to always watch your levels and EQ accordingly.

Also add some sidechaining like crazy. I'm not one to sidechain often since I'm more experimenting with the engineering side of production rather than the production side of production, but even I know sidechaining is key to create amazing tracks. Your piano also sounds like it could use a lot of reverb and some delay.
I highly recommend getting FL Studio 11. And if for some reason you don't like FL anymore, head straight to Ableton Live 9. Don't even look at Pro Tools.

@YoshL, the ending doesn't seem too abrupt to me. It sounds pretty damn nice.

@Ohaider. How do you usually sidechain? I end up placing a peak controller on the kick or whatever usually goes every quarter bar anyway. (Or end up making another kick but mute it.) Then add a Balance or on say the saw bass or noise then link the volume to the peak+lfo. Is there a different way that isn't using Gross Beat. Cause literally, that thing IS gross.
