CXLVIII - TWG to the Turnabout Postgame

TWG to the Turnabout

Order! Order! Order, I said! There seems to be a new case arriving in my courtroom today. However, the lists for Prosecution and Defense doesn't seem to be coming with it.

TWG to the Turnabout is a semi-open setup. 13 players can join this game.

General Mechanics
Day Start
24-Hour start delay
Cardflipping: ON
OOTC: OFF (Minus factional wolf chat)
Night talking: OFF

Voting Mechanics
Phantoms: ON
KitB: ON
Must Lynch: ON
Insta: ON

Roles
All of the greatest lawyers and their witnesses were invited to take on the case of Justin Toeburn. The accused was allegedly responsible for the murder of Molly Mayor, his co-worker. Unfortunately, due to an unrelated incident in the mailroom, court summons requests for witnesses and lawyers were either lost or destroyed. Some, however, made it to their destination.
Only 5 letters made it to their destinations. 2 Attorneys (and affiliates) and 3 Prosecutors (and affiliates) received an invitation to come to court. 8 other letters did arrive, but they were to non-important witnesses. Shame.

2 Attorneys
3 Prosecutors
8 Unimportant witnesses (Vanilla town)

Two of the following attorneys (or affiliates) received a letter of invitation, but we don't know which! Two of the following attorneys will be chosen at random.

Defense Roles
Phoenix Wright - The Truth Seeker: Finding the truth is the ultimate goal for you, Phoenix Wright. Wielding Maya's magatama, you are able to check the alignment of a player every night.

Maya Fey - The Spirit Medium: As a member of the Fey clan, you possess a great talent. As the next successor of the Kurain Channeling Technique, your abilities are almost unbelieveable to many. During night, you may summon one of two spirits to aid you.
Mia Fey:
-The spirit of your late sister, Mia Fey, known as one of the greatest attorneys to live. Her ability is so powerful that channeling her spirit will let you one-shot protect any player at night from a conviction (death).
Ms. Miney:
-The spirit of revenge. Channeling Ms. Miney will give you a one-shot conviction (kill) during at night.
You will seer red if checked with the magatama.

Miles Edgeworth - The Inheritor: After some reminiscence of your father's last case and revelation of the corrupt nature of the prosecution office, you decided to take footsteps in the path your father chose. At night, you may choose a player to take to the detention center (jail) for questioning. Your target cannot be convicted and cannot attempt to convict another player. Additionally, you may choose to make your target loved (-1 net votes) or hated (+1 net votes). Cannot exist if the prosecution version is rolled.

Trucy Wright - The Magician: It's the amazing Mr. Hat! Can one of the greatest magic tricks of all time save you again? It just may! Once this game, you may place a trap version of Mr. Hat with any player. Any players who attempt to convict (kill) your target will be instead be convicted themselves. This trap lasts one night. You cannot place the trap at your own door.

Ema Skye - The Scientist: SCIENCE! Your love for mixing science with justice lets you try out different chemical compounts. Pregame, you may select which chemical set to use. Set A will grant you Watching abilities (choose a target at night to see who visits them). Set B will grant you Tracking abilities (choose a target at night to see who they visit).

Two of the following prosecutors (or affiliates) received a letter of invitation, but we don't know which ones got their letters either! One prosecutor, Winston Payne, has RSVP'd to the case. He is simply a Vanilla Prosecutor.

Two of the following prosecutors will be chosen at random.
Prosecution Roles
Manfred von Karma - The Forger: A perfect record. A perfect case. These are the foundations of the von Karmas, and you uphold them to the highest standard. To maintain the perfect case for this new trial, you may forge evidence. During pregame, you may select a non-wolf player. That player will show up as guilty to all checks and visit every night kill scene.

Franziska von Karma - The Lasher: Your ferociousness in court is unmatched. Your enemies leave with welts and scars at the wrath of the prodigious youth of the von Karma clan. Every night, you may select a target to attack with your whip, roleblocking them.

Miles Edgeworth - The Nemesis: Your confidence in your craft allows you to gain advantages and sweet-talk the judge. Every night, including pre-game. You may select a target. Your target will have +0.1 votes the following day. If that target is lynched, you will gain powers.
-1 success: Master wolf status
-2 successes: One-shot roleblock
-3 successes: One-shot vigi
Cannot exist if the attorney version is rolled.

Matt Engarde - The Deceiver: Refreshing like a spring breeze. At least, that's what you want everyone to think about you. You are a master wolf until you make the conviction (night kill).

Kristoph Gavin - The Manipulator: A defense attorney gone corrupt, you possess the power to manpiulate others by careful planning. Once in the game, you may call up one of your connections. Your connection will enable your kill to be unblockable and untraceable.

Other information
Follows standard action resolution
Wolves must choose which member of the team is conducting the kill

------------------

SETUP ROLLED:
Defense: 2, 4
Prosecution: 2, 3

ACTIONS:
Pregame: DaBackpack vote pressures Red Blaster.

N1: storn42 kills thesunfan.
DaBackpack vote pressures botchi246
thesunfan vigi kills DaBackpack.

N2: choof places Mr. Hat on YoshL.
storn42 kills YoshL. (storn blows up)

------------------

COMMENTS:
For a pretty anticipated game and hyped up vote, this was a ridiculous sweep for town. This would have been a perfect game if choof put a trap at thesunfan's house on N1, but the trap on N2 makes up for it. storn cheesecaked by not killing choof's claim, which was 100% true.

MVP:
Who do I even give this to? There wasn't enough game to give a REAL MVP but the most cool points are awarded to thesunfan for the sick nasty vigi shot on N1. choof's trap was nice too.

send games, I have one atm

Re: CXLVIII - TWG to the Turnabout Postgame

when i said "i can post however i want as whatever alignment" i think i phrased that pretty poorly, it's more of a "whatever i post usually isn't too indicative of my alignment because i'm all over the place" type thing.

glad to have pushed V d1 instead of dabackpack as sunfan probably wanted, glad to have picked up on storn with the extra information during d2

inactivity and drama nearly nuked the game though. rip

lol pressure on red blaster

Re: CXLVIII - TWG to the Turnabout Postgame

As much as I wanted to play this setup, I had to bow out. I was busy with work, and then gone the entire weekend (and didn't clue into this until the game had started).
Sorry to everyone for that, but I had fun reading, and playing the limited time I did.

Re: CXLVIII - TWG to the Turnabout Postgame

i think what this game comes down to for me is that i need to stop tunneling my thoughts. i got down to the point of what if choof isn't a PR and stoped focusing on my back-up plan for what if he actually was a PR. Clearer thinking would have made me realize that YoshL was the stupidest NK of all since my goal for that night should have been to avoid the trap instead of finding the best kill.

i also bussed my partner again... i do feel like my "town" game was on point though. ignoring my interactions with V, i felt like i was doing a fairly good job analyzing the game and coming up with good "reads" on people... (though that bus did help)

EDIT: btw, i totally recommend reading my decent into madness: http://www.quicktopic.com/52/H/yQfgYpphwmJCP

Re: CXLVIII - TWG to the Turnabout Postgame

Yeah Yoshl, I was kind of sad when DBP didn't get lynched, especially when he came in and voted like he did. But it turned out for the best. Tbh, the first phase could've gone a lot worse considering all the Town/Town Violence that defined 90% of it.
EDIT: Wow, DBP miscounted the votes. I guess it makes sense with Red being his target, I hadn't understood why he did what he did until now.

YoshL 02-9-2016 10:42 PM

Re: CXLVIII - TWG to the Turnabout Postgame

don't get me wrong, if you hadn't night killed dbp, i would have been on his ass, the red blaster vote was horrid at EoD

i think 99% of my D1 tunnels are town so we have that

I kind of regret not playing this game, I guess next time I won't let myself get replaced so easily hmph..

Good read and nice trap choof/YoshL.

Honorable mention to RB and Botchi for trying to "play their characters".

thesunfan had a good snipe too.

Re: CXLVIII - TWG to the Turnabout Postgame

ok, after reading wolfchat, I am in about 200% less "lolwtfstorn" mode than I was before.

So, the play that you were worried about, a roleswap, is VERY uncommon. Its an incredibly high-level play rarely seen even with the best TWG players in the world because the risk is so high. In this kind of thing, looking at the time-frame is important. Its likely that choof, is he was going to roleswap, would've waited a bit longer to perhaps try and confirm with the last power role that it was ok to do so. Its possible that this could've been done the day before, but unlikely given that all wolves were alive and a lot of shit can go down d0.

I can very clearly see your internal dialogue choice was not an easy one. It was just wrong. Don't feel too bad about trying to make big-dick plays, especially when you're as far behind as you were at that point in time.

PS glad I finally read you right =P

Wow

roundbox, if it's any consolation, you SHOULD probably send this game again. This game clearly did not utilize even a fraction of what it had to offer.

The wolves just got handled pretty baaaaaaaaad.

Re: CXLVIII - TWG to the Turnabout Postgame

So yeah YoshL, sorry about that game. Some of my habits are to truly pick at a player to read em, but I took it too far.

At least I was able to read most people correct. Did not see storn as a woof tho
