Hidden Mechanics:
- If someone chooses the same waifu/husbando they will instantly be a hydra account. If two people choose someone from the same show, then they instantly become lovers/hydra. You get the idea. - If a player obtains both Alondite and Ragnell, they will ‘die’ that phase and come back as a 3rd party cultist. - Revealing of hidden mechanics can be given for items - When a player dies, an item from them comes into the item circulation - If host killing / voting power determines deadliness of game show - Any random.org will be decided based on post count, because its more fun that way - If a pokemon battle happens, only the two pokemon fighting can post for the entire phase. MVP:
Split between Storn/Dev Storn fooled pretty much all town, and even though he messed up before he got lynched he still did an amazing Job. Dev coming in as a replacement slot really helped them win Quote of the game: Quote:

Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
My imaginary role that I came up with to play once we got into the stage of the game where people were requiring role reveals was designed to explain both how I had a targeted ability at night, and also would seer red while still reading town.
My claim that my initials were RK wasn't just to cover up being namechecked as the character you all thought DPB would have picked, I'd actually crafted a whole thing. I was pretending to be Ryoji Kaji from Neon Genesis Evangelion. My night power was to target a player, and if they died I could see who had killed them. But my status as a double agent was dangerous, since I was always sneaking around crime scenes, I'd seer red. I didn't plan, coming in, to be able to fake the power to force a win at zero hour, but it was always going to be in my back pocket to try and save a wolf by forcing a lynch on somebody else. |

Can we do something about this? |

Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
I was so on the fence for which way to do it.
I knew that in an F4 with roundbox/haku/svaz that I would die I was confident in a thunderdome between Shadow and I that I could survive I knew that in an F3 with any 2 of roundbox/haku/svaz that I would die After my posts about knowing I'd die as soon as I revealed my role (which, if it were a real role, I think I -would- have been wolfed right after revealing it) I really only had two options 1. Don't kill, claim to be guarded miraculously, push Shadow lynch to bring us to 3/1 Kill somebody in the night, be almost certainly lynched in the F3 and lose 2. Just go for it, kill somebody, try to frame Shadow, hope to god it works, win the F4 Doing the kill and trying to frame Shadow was extremely risky and I am actually shocked it worked, but I thought I knew I could count on Svaz to vote Shadow, and with Roundbox gone there was no more voice to push for Shadow as town |
Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
Ummmmm xiz, how exactly is the monokuma role supposed to lose....?
If they get shot in the night, they have a vest so that won't make them lose. If they get lynched, they win. This role seems basically un-loseable Not to even mention the completely overpowered rule changing aspect of it No offense to funnygurl, but I don't think that win should count. The role seems compromised to me |

Not saying wolves didn't deserve the win, just pointing out to town two major things I thought was pretty obvious, and I had no prior knowledge Dev was the last wolf until the error happened, lol.
Devonin did good~ |
Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
I mean, I spent previous days saying "I shouldn't say because I'll be a huge target when I do" and it wasn't until I was pushed that I said "okay here's what it is, now you can see why I'll be a huge target" so I did prime the reveal a little more back in time than just saying it so late.
|
Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
Also I jumped on the Cook power meaning he can track to suggest that the info he had was that he tracked my action on Roundbox that night where I killed Soundwave but smoked Roundbox so I'd have actions directed at 2 people.

Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
Fun fact, I was suppose to be in this game somehow, but I guess the sequence of events for that to happen never happened.
I was looking forward to messing with you all. |

people were way too negative towards the beginning of the game. at first, it was directed towards ffa. i consider him a friend, and i don't want people picking on him to the extent that you guys did. his flaws aside-- and regardless of what his alignment was-- the comments towards him were so negative that even he blew up. and then regarding the behavior towards me. i know i was playing bad. i was doing it intentionally, which is obvious now. however, constantly berating me since you perceived that i'm not a good twg player fucking SUCKS, especially since i've been putting in so much effort to being a better player. there are ways to address bad plays without saying "ur bad" or making snide remarks towards the messages i put out. since you really thought i was just being bad, have you considered offering constructive criticism? there are people who approached my bad plays that way, and i appreciate that. explain why i'm wrong; don't resort to personal attacks, please i'm also going through a lot of stuff irl, and while normal me may have been able to handle the negativity and save it for post game, my patience right now is spent. the only thing i'll apologize for here is breaking the rules by mentioning subbing out. nothing else. |

Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
Game continuing after soundwave's misflip is really really gross.
Dev you played really good, I ended up using action on you only because of you not outing role along with storn and potential deep wolf. Only mistakes that really stood out was a response to xel that confirmed that you knew soundwave was the wolfkill instead of me, and nightkilling roundbox which had a huge potential to misfire because not only was he the only one at the time hard town reading shadow, but he had no role. You were the only choice here for nightkill so you living and the 'can't believe that worked' post was a huge red flag that town decided to ignore. Shadow's last posts were really nice getting into emotion and he defended himself to the best he was able to, aside from pointing out the dead role vs active role when mentioning roundbox being a bad kill for him to make as wolf. |
Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
Overall think I did alright. Was only missing being on cocoa and mtamb, storn switch paid off, and almost won game if I tracked instead of saving soundwave. Still kinda mad not tracking

Following along I made a bunch of mistakes, the big one being that I probably always fight to get SunFan lynched there and in the process soft clear FFA. Pretty nasty plan on hindsight. I am gonna agree that towards the end Dev shoulda been caught. He played well but that Storn lynch really only left Dev and Soundwave as the final candidates (Shado too I guess but seriously it was one of the others in my mind) so when Soundwave died I knew it was Dev Followed by the fact that Gradiant said he learned X and then had to die because what he was told about X was wrong? That shit so blantedly obvious that I was wondering why Xiz didn't cancel the game it clearly pointed to Dev. Instead you guys lynched Xel? I love you all but there is no defense to that one |

Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
The information was compromised. Xiz simply said you were given the wrong info, but then killed you because you were actually supposed to die in the night after making a big play
I didn't want to read too much into it to avoid angleshooting Not saying that it has happened, but I refuse to be called out for not using this information when it's explicitly against the rules --- I think we need to revise something about host communication as well since it also kinda confirmed Haku as town this game (at least to sunfan) Players should keep all host communication private, even if the host gives them info that the player could realistically bring to the thread. If the information is something the whole thread should know, I think the host should just post a contextless clarity post if need be. Think of how it would have changed this game if said proposed style was adopted Haku whispers to xiz about wolves knowing who the lost wolves were, xiz realizes this and reveals it in thread. Since nobody saw who asked the question, the information enters the game cleanly. I'm also reflecting on some of the mistakes I made with my Trailer Park Boys game, and I think host communication is something that I botched and I think really, really needs fixing. |
Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
I actually never privately asked Xiz about this. My guess is that he noticed inconsistencies with the role pm from dead players and wanted things to be clean, but could have slipped more info than he should have.

No fault on anyone's behalf; I just think we need to revise our approach on this particular rule. |

Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
there is a school of thought that believes host communication in the thread is fine, and i think that same school regards asking good questions as either alignment as fairly skill-testing, but
in general i like keeping host comms private, and i get the sense that people here would not like that as an element of the game that they have to read i don't really want to touch the angleshooting stuff but using it as a defense sounds like it should self kill you, if that's what happened |

If I tried to angleshoot and deduce what happened, I only would have guessed he died because he received the wrong info in the night. However, this would have been wrong. Soundwave should have lived and Gradiant should have died. We wouldn't even have made the right conclusion even if we tried. |

If the host accept to clarify things because Haku is town and really doesn't know; It means that Haku cannot be a wolf. ^ This should be modkillable tbh, but it shouldn't happen as well. This tend to be more true than not because wolves don't usually pm the host to fake clarify things because it's not cool to play like that in general. I don't think people want to get in postgame and go like; "wow, very nice fake clarification from the host, you really outplayed us, good job man". Honestly Xiz had the right call, but added a little too much info imo. (It didn't really matter if I misinterpret how the wolf team works, but it's cool to edit role pm from dead players, announce it in the thread and make it consistent) It's subtle stuff. I'm still not sure what's the best course of action for Gradiant. |

the # of anti-towns coupled with the # of people who could have had their win conditions changed to become anti-town is greater than the # of kills town had at their disposal its a miracle this game went to f4 |

this entire page is pretty solid reason why host interaction in thread is a bad idea
all this nerd talk about "morality" and "game ethics" and blah blah host convo happening in private nips all this boring shit in the bud (420 blaze it) |
Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
You played great, Dev.

the biggest problem I faced when trying to parse the TWG history thread is the lack of uniformity in the presentation of information. the results for each game were written by the hosts in their own format so there was no real standard, which made text parsing difficult. add on top of that lack of consistency of certain games (e.g. the Villains games where "green" was actually "wolf") and the task was just intractable computationally Like in competitive sports the refs are usually asked to fill out a simple sheet with: Score tally, time remaining, winner, and these sheets are handed to the tourney manager so that maintenance of the tourney is easy and there's no real interpretive element. just my unsolicited 2c |

Roundbox I'm sorry man but you don't have to theorycraft off what the host said when the host post tells you the reason right there in the post. Also you bending backwards to pretend that info isn't there us just as bad as not using it--its just reverse angleshooting where you lose instead of win.
Frankly host should have cancelled the game If he doesn't want you to use info he put in the thread. Quote:

For my second ever game, learning to play while playing was one hell of an experience. I was a little amazed to go from lynched D0 to making it to F4. I had a great time playing with all of you and I'm looking forward to the next game

Re: TWG 187 Senpai [Post Game]
