Nothing to fear. You can always drop the weight in a power rack if you get stuck, or just sit down.

Welp, I failed my squats today. Made it to set 4/5, but botched the fifth rep. My form, somehow, goes to shit around this threshold (95 lbs). I've got to be doing something wrong.

its a haaaard lift especially when you come from having no muscle mass buddy don't get down

Out of curiosity, how much are you squatting now?

Re: Misc. progress thread

I just use 45 plates on each side. So only 135

It really aggrivates me how close I am to my goal but how much harder it has become to see any progress weight wise.

absolutely. you become desensitized to your current aesthetic in a way, and the slow progress as you get to lower weights makes it feel that much more difficult.

you're not alone, if that means anything, lol. we've been there before. it's rough.

Yeah I know lol. It's such a blow to my motivation. I did a progress picture today and I can see a difference from last month, but it's a very small difference.

I started doing VKRs to change up my routine a little. I can do 2 sets of 10 at the moment. Hoping to be able to boost that higher soon.

down to 210 lbs. been a bit more lenient on my diet than i was before but i'm gonna start doing significantly more cardio come the 17th. house arrest being done = not having to schedule all my shit in advance.

Re: Misc. progress thread

lost 50lb on my bench during my cut.

just gained that 50lb back, two weeks after starting my bulk.

hell yeah. it's all up from here.

Finally hit 5x5 squats, 100 lbs with non-shitty form.

I can't believe I had to deload so early on in the process, but whatever. Progress is progress!

My goal right now is to be able to squat 5x5 135 lbs (one plate each side) by the end of the month. Might be too ambitious but whatever, I'll be happy if I get close.

don't worry about the weight you move... it means nothing without good/perfect form

guys at my gym doing 2 plates on each side and not getting their 90 degree or breaking it. probably just passed 45 degree. like WHOA BRO. -_-

Re: Misc. progress thread

Yeah -- I'm counting anything above parallel as a failed rep.

Re: Misc. progress thread

Straight bar bicep curls, though, can die in a fire. That shit is murdering my wrists and I'm only putting 5 lbs on each side of the bar (55 lbs total).

all of these people should be indicted for gain fraud as far as I'm concerned

about 1 out of every ... I'd say 5 guys at my gym does that shit. not too horrible, but given the kind of person who does this they're undoubtedly the variety of guy who goes out with their friends and tells their friends, who don't lift, that they can bench 300lb, who in turn tell *their* friends that they know a guy who benches 300lb, and so on down the chain of communication until 300lb enters some kind of accomplishment hyperinflation and everyone knows someone who can bench 300lb, when in reality it's 225lb at best.

the only way to be worse is to be the kind of dude who takes a facebook IQ test and self-reports it at 150, or, the worst of all -- the hitler of hitlers -- guys who measure their dick from the balls. send those men to the hague.

Keep it up Reincarnate, I think you should be able to make it. Squat frequently and keep pushing yourself. You'll get to 135 no problem.

My buddy that I've been training now for 3 months just hit a 160x5 Squat PR today. I'm impressed with his progress for sure, since he has also lost 15 lbs in that time.

Trying to get my cut back on track. Been so busy lately. Weigh in as of this am was 188 lbs. Lost 2 weeks, but, nothing gained or lost so it's no big deal. I'll just keep going. Strength is down a bit but I should be able to get it back (wasn't able to workou tat all last week). Hit a 265x5 squat today for 4 working sets pretty easily, so I'll work on getting that back up over the next few weeks while I drop more weight.

In the process of cutting currently. Cutting down pretty low as basically a learning experience. I've hired a personal trainer to help me along the way.

Right now he has me at:

Carbs: 363
Protein: 155
Fats: 70
Fiber: 25-35
Calories: 2700

This is where I'm at right now. Pretty lean already, just want to see how much farther I can take this.
