well, I just looked in the options, and noticed that the private messages are disabled by default. not to mention the fact, that finding the place to enable them isn't as easy as it should. (should be in the recieved messages list too.)

I hope that aside from reminding us about the tournament there wasn't anything important in there..

Nope, just gave a link to the tourney and a reminder to everyone to show up today at 8 EST for the first round, which will last until October 3rd.

Curse me being on GMT :( 8pm in the US is not till about 1 am for me.

Re: Omnipwn Tournament (100,000 Credit Grand Prize)

I posted times for the following few rounds on the main page. Would this schedule be a bit better in the future?

Also note: I apologize for the inconveniences but speed rounds are the hardest to coordinate and so I have to attempt to shoot for a timeframe that will accommodate most players reasonably well. Skill rounds are much more flexible as they aren't time-based. Anyways, let me know!

Start times are looking good. I'm losing a few points in Round 1, being in the same time zone as Boatz, but rounds 2 and 3 are fine for me. I agree that varying the start times like you have done is the best way to go about it.

In the future I'll make speed rounds a bit earlier.

Re: Omnipwn Tournament (100,000 Credit Grand Prize)

Try not to make them too early. Me, and most probably some other people around here, start school at 8 AM and finish at around 6 PM everyday.

Hmm so I will make it 6:30 EST at the earliest?

6:30 EST for me sounds good. Input from others will be needed for that though.

Time to go to my French class...

Re: Omnipwn Tournament (100,000 Credit Grand Prize)

will it be a mental challenge question or random game or FFR related? or can you not tell us?

MrRubix 10-1-2007 02:29 PM

Re: Omnipwn Tournament (100,000 Credit Grand Prize)

The mental challenges will not necessarily be FFR related, but I am not going to rule anything out. The challenges in general will be more math/logic/visual/computer/aural-based puzzles -- ideally things you can't just plug into Google because I want this to be something people have to actually work to figure out. I'm changing some stuff around as we speak -- I have two challenges planned or so, and the first one will be more tricky-logic, and the second challenge will be more a matter of problem-solving ability without so many gimmicky tricks, but who knows :D
