So I got these scores at school where I don't have any connection to the internet so I hope you can accept these. Not sure which one is better. Would be nice if we didn't have to worry about MA.

Will definitely improve MA (may have to play around with speedmods). And hopefully get the AAA.

Big Updates
(you might want to read this people)

-We are changing this to cumulative scoring instead of elimination. We want everyone, especially the people in D1/D2, to have a fun experience with solo, and having an elimination tourney would only cut that fun experience short. The way I plan on implementing this type of scoring is by taking the DP as a percentage every round and taking the average percent for each player's final score in the tourney. Doing this will make it so no one round will have more weight than the others.

-A lot of people were about the type of DP scoring we were using. On one hand, we had people talking about how MA is typically stressed in sm and that good MA should be awarded properly. But then on the other hand, I've had complaints from people with not-as-good MA; for example, some people in D1 mentioned they are upset at the fact that 1st and 2nd place isn't even a AAA when there are already AAA's in the division (and that 1st place isn't even an FC, lmfao.) So remedy this situation, I will be keeping track of both scoring types (MIGS and MAX in the DP calculator which can be found on the front page.)

-With all this said, I just woke up, so I'm hoping I can have the spreadsheet updated by the end of the round. It's going to take a while because (1) I need to remove the elimination bars and key, (2) I need to change the DP values to %'s, and (3) I need to calculate and throw in the DP values for the other scoring type.

tl;dr
-We are doing cumulative, not elimination.
-We are using the MIGS and MAX scoring for DP (one focuses on MA while the other doesn't.)
-I have a **** ton of updating to do.

Thank god for this, I was certain I wasn't really going to get to play in this tourney cause I was in D3, but this fixes things. Thanks so much Reuben.

Also thanks for taking on doing that much work just to make the tournament run smoother, especially since it wasn't even your tournament to begin with, it's greatly appreciated (by me anyways). Don't run yourself into the ground though >.<.

I'm just making sure, a SS with 2x the rate won't work then, right? I always do 2x out of habit from FFR.

I don't understand how my update implies this? I'm guessing your score doesn't fair well against the rest of your division using the other DP scoring system perhaps?

Thanks, I was actually looking forward to less spreadsheet updates from the eliminations, but I want everyone to be able to participate throughout the entire course of the tourney and to have fun, since you don't see a solo tourney often (or ever really.) Thanks for being concerned, I'll try not to work myself too hard, I have some people helping with spreadsheet updates so that relieves some of the work on my part.

If you are talking about the SCROLL-rate, then feel free to set this to whatever you want. Same thing with FFR, changing the speed mod only changes the rate at which the arrows scroll, you still have to hit the arrows at the same speed. However, there is an option in sm to actually change the rate at which the song plays, like the song itself will actually be slower/faster. In sm, the change in scroll rate is denoted by the "speed" setting in the options menu while the actual song speed is denoted by "rate." You can change the "speed", but not the "rate."

EDIT: Sorry for round 2 being a little late. I wanted to have the rounds overlap, but oh well. If LongGone can compile the round 2 songs in time, I'm hoping we'll have round 2 up when round 1 ends.

That is most excellent, reuben and LG. I was hoping the tournament would attract some more solo players, rather than give them a brief sample if they were eliminated.

Re: Ben's Solord Style Tournament!

ROUND 2 HAS STARTED!
Round 2!
(Round 2 ends Wednesday @ 11:59 pm server time)

~~~Files can be downloaded here~~~
D1 - [bmah] Session 9 -Chronicles- (Light)
D2 - [Kommisar] Musicmaker RX (Heavy)
D3 - [Gundam-Dude] Light Prayer
D4 - [0] Francium
LongGone spent a long time to put these song choices together, he got some help for the D1-D3 songs from the following people, so kudos to them too:
-Gundam-Dude
-Roar
-0
-ca25nada
-Detrimentalist
Just a friendly reminder that this is no longer an elimination tourney, so don't worry about if you've been eliminated or not. Also, I haven't had a lot of time to update the spreadsheet today, I'll see if I can do it later tonight. Sorry guys. >.<
bmah 03-11-2012 12:13 AM
Re: Ben's Solord Style Tournament!
Also, I think it's fair for people to turn off the video for Session 9 -Chronicles- if they want, as most files do not have a video. Unlike FFR, I don't think videos should be an integral part of the challenge.
edit: ok, that's good LG
