^this.

how about 2 classes: Forumtard status, and Avid Player status. Veteran should have little to nothing to do with the forums. I understand there are players who lurk the forums, and I might get flak for this, but it's kinda their fault if they choose not to play because they "suck" (I used to get flustered playing excite bike, years ago, but look at me now. hehe)

Can you remake all the skins you added as vector graphics? Velocity noteskin especially. For people who play in standalone, it looks like utter crap when you resize the window, one of the main reasons I still use the regular noteskin.

Also, Dendrite is easily my favorite legacy song... CAN WE PLEASE GET SUPPORT TOKENS BACK? OMFG.

Re: FFR Suggestions

I will look at including vector noteskins in the new system, as it sounds like Flash performance will be improving drastically. If the lag of relocating vectors isn't too extreme then I will give options for Vector or bitmap format skin / noteskins.

Re: FFR Suggestions

Okay, Dev's, I have a major suggestion. I know it's been brought up before but I really think you should consider it. We have a Facebook page, and though it isn't updated much, it's a start. We NEED to get an FFR Application on Facebook. It can be basic, it can be a teaser with few songs, it really doesn't matter, but it would be a HUGE step forward in reaching out to people who don't play FFR. Because the Facebook world is so massive already and still growing, it's got as much publicity as we could ever want if we use it. Zuckerburg is still making changes to the site, and has been changing the way that Apps are ran and their interaction with people's feeds, and that sort of stuff and I really think sometime soon is a good time to get this up and running. We had a [pathetic, but working] app on Kongregate for FFR for a while, but it would be infinitely more publicized on Facebook if people could find it through that networking web/mess.

and kongregate^

Re: FFR Suggestions

Quite honestly if the Fb one went up I would assume it would be usable for Kongregate as well as far as code goes, unless I'm severely mistaken.

profile chat shop:
gradients 2500 credits each
slap user 2000 credits one time use
slap all 5000 credits one time use
drop bomb 15000 credits one time use
one time access to the various sound boards 2000 credits etc
idk how much you can put in a prochat shop.

Re: FFR Suggestions

I just noticed the idea of using ITG style graphs. Here's a slightly better one:

The little snippet of blue gradient is indicative of a full fantastic combo, and the orange gradient is indicative of a full excellent combo. Being that FFR's lifebar system has practically zero passing difficulty, it doesn't seem efficient to show a lifebar.

On top of that, maybe it would be possible to have a squared graph from start to finish, showing what your judgments are. Quick little drawing here...

It basically displays your timing on every step, and your deviations from the perfect window. Every step is either early, or late, with the except of the middle frame of the perfect window. So, if you end up with a late perfect, your chart will fill in for the middle perfect window, and the late perfect window as well. If you end up with an extremely late good, you'll fill in all the way to the top of the graph. If you hit an average, you'll fill from the middle perfect frame down through all of the earlier timing windows.

And finally, if you miss, you miss the entire thing - so I just decided to put a huge red block that covers the entire thing. A miss has no defined timing to it.

I was considering making this graph readable in two different ways by taking a person's boo count and have it ascend up the y-axis, with the top value being the person's boo count (so, if you have 13 boos, your 13th boo will touch the top of the graph). Boos would have been plotted, and then lines connected, for a better visual representation.

These sound reasonable. Idk why I made them so high when we discussed it LOL.

Re: FFR Suggestions

Ban another user from prochat: 1000 credits per hour ;D

justin_ator 09-23-2011 09:08 PM

Re: FFR Suggestions

Cause nobody with 1mil credits would abuse that to keep someone gone.

qqwref 09-23-2011 11:03 PM

Re: FFR Suggestions

I honestly don't see someone wasting that many credits to just keep someone gone. A million credits takes a long, long time to accumulate.

(Plus, any admins can undo the ban at any time, so it'd be a waste to make a longer one unless the admins really hate that person.)

EDIT: If it wasn't clear, I meant a prochat ban only.

Re: FFR Suggestions

An hour is kinda a long time. Maybe 1k creds to MUTE someone for 1 minute or something. But to ban them from the chat altogether for a rate of 1k per hour?

Heck, I could earn my 1k creds back just by playing FFR for that hour and keep someone perma banned. It would turn into a game of whoever gets in ProChat first wins.

I fully support the idea of a prochat shop though, making things like the soundboard and slapping people available for a fee, and buying different gradient colors would be a cool aesthetic.

Re: FFR Suggestions

I'd be against paying for bans or mutes - that's what admins/mods are for to be honest. It might be fun, but it'd get abused to hell. Other than that, I like the idea of a shop.

Re: FFR Suggestions

I would hope that the idea of banning/kicking in profile chat is a joke. A shop seems entirely unnecessary for just PC, but if it's sitewide...eh - maybe in the future.

Let all of the in-progress site work be completed first and then add things not quite on the agenda later.

Re: FFR Suggestions

I just posted it because Velocity told us to post prochat shop ideas in the suggestions thread, so I'm guessing that it's going to be implemented regardless ?.?

If I want to pay creds for anything, it's not kicking or muting or banning. It's name gradients :P

Re: FFR Suggestions

100% a thousand times NO on users EVER having the ability to ban, mute or kick other users from chat for any length of time ever.

Yea.. That was a stupid idea to begin with.
