Re: Guitar Hero IV upcoming with Fall featuring FULL BAND!

That song list is hilarious. Some of it is unbelievably ****ty, and some of it is SO GOOOOOOD. The drum kit would be pretty boss, though. Too bad I would buy a real drum kit before buying that game (and probably will).

I'm excited for GHWT just for the song making stuff. My friend and I have both been getting better at Guitar Hero rapidly, but we've both hit pretty big roadblocks recently. It's hard to get better when there are no songs to play. The Wii version of GH3 got dicked over with no DLC, which was supposed to be released in the first QUARTER OF THE YEAR. I know I could get a 360 guitar and play stuff on simulators, or I could make GH2 customs, but I'm lazy and don't want to mod my PS2.

In terms of drums, I'm pretty set with Rock Band. More pads are fun, but they don't have enough appeal to me to shell out another.. whatever it is.

I've come to the conclusion after talking with you in AIM for so long that you don't know what 'emo' is.

Please go learn.

Also that updated list bumped the 'good song' count to 2. Amazing!

Also, couldn't you have linked to the Wikipedia article, which has 32 songs on it already? And much better ones, at that?

Also the game only has 40 songs and we know 32. And then there's this bit:

"It has been announced that Rock Revolution is going to contain 40 songs, all of them covers of the original recordings. To date, 32 songs have been revealed through press releases and demonstrations."

Re: Guitar Hero IV upcoming with Fall featuring FULL BAND!

GH2 was mostly covers (most of the good songs were covers) and it's regarded by many as the greatest music game of all time. As long as they're good covers that's not a huge issue.

Re: Guitar Hero IV upcoming with Fall featuring FULL BAND!

Not doubting that, just saying.

Haven't we moved past covers yet?

World Tour has double (and then some) the tracks in Rock Revolution and none of them are covers.

I'd also like to mention that all the "good" songs in Revolution have been in other music games so far so...

What's the point of getting it?

Ahem stuff from Elite Beat Agents, I don't know why I thought about that. And dAnceguy is right. Some of the songs are awesome, and some songs are like wth?

Some artists had trouble finding the original masters for their songs, so they had to give different bands the right to cover songs featured in games.

Well, that's the reason that GH has so many covers. There should be no reason for Rock Revolution to have EVERY SINGLE SONG redone.

Re: Guitar Hero IV upcoming with Fall featuring FULL BAND!

No, that makes sense to me. And I already knew that some bands were so caught up in the moment of their music careers that they never kept track of their own material. But there's no excuse to cover every song other than trying to save money.

I can't even IMAGINE how bad the cover for Knights of Cydonia will sound from a Konami studio.

ps edited the title. There's no such thing as guitar hero 4.

Am I Evil? by Metallica? Aw, they had to pick that one, out of all their good songs. -.-

Fade To Black, Master of Puppets, Unforgiven I/II, Wherever I may Roam, Battery, One, etc..

They just HAD to add that one.

Meh, nice to finally see some System in the game, although they picked one of their most overrated songs ever.

There are a few good ones here, but as I said before, they're in other music games already, so if you wanted to play them, you had the opportunity to do so already.

but if it is real, it's very very nice

Re: Guitar Hero World Tour

Yeah, a flag for me is Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. They're only using original master tracks, which no longer exist for those two bands (hence the covers in GH3/RB).

Squeek 07-25-2008 01:50 AM

Re: Guitar Hero World Tour

Cult of Personality was listed as a Master track in GH3 despite not being the original Master recording. I believe Holiday in Cambodia was the same way.

Anyway, there's no way to know if this is true or not so whatever. It's leagues ahead of the RB2 soundtrack.

Re: Guitar Hero World Tour

The end of the world is upon us.

This isn't a press release from Activision. That's what makes it a rumor. Hopefully you're not trying to discredit it solely based on the fact that someone used the British spelling of the word "Theater" rather than the American spelling.

HEAVENS NO.

The only thing I can say positively for this list is that it follows everything Activision has confirmed thus far, so it's either completely made up following some set of guidelines and a lot of imagination, or it's true.

Edit: And I just saw a video posted after this "leak" that had No Sleep 'till Brooklyn playing in the background menu while the band was getting ready (kinda like how songs would play on the intro screen of GH3), then they played Hot For Teacher. So that's two more confirmed songs that are on the list right there.
