Right. Some songs definitely are too hard for me, and I know that, which is why I rarely play them. I always play every song (I have access to) at least once though, just so that I can get a score on it and not be in dead last on it. Most of the time, I'm staying somewhere around difficulty 6-8 -- a little easier if I want to warm up or just relax and not worry about improving my scores, a little harder if I feel like going for more of a challenge and seeing if I'm getting any better on the harder stuff. Songs at 10-12 are really out of my range though, and 9 is kind of debatable. I do play them once in a while to see if I can improve my scores, but don't succeed very often and don't worry *too* much if I don't. As I work on the songs around 7-8 and hopefully better there, I'll eventually start to improve on songs around 9. It's the same kind of thing that happened to me before on easier songs -- eventually I get good at them and can move up. I'm just taking a much longer time to improve and move up than some of the other players here.

Re: FFR's Top One Handers

I'd say every song is passable without mash simply because I believe I've done this. Some I can't pass every time I play them though.

Really though, the only time mash should come into play, I think is for level 11 and 12 and 13 songs. (Isn't there one level 13 song?) And maybe maybe for the occasional level 10 that probably should have been rated an 11.

But really though, those aren't that fun to play. I'd stick mostly with the ones level 10 and under, which actually are fun to play and don't require mash.

Seriously though, The Adventures of Lolo song and chart is fun? I don't think so. There is no way to do well on that without mash, for example. It's also not fun so why play it often? That's my point.

Maybe there can be some challenge lists of specific scores to beat on specific songs (10 and under only) and the goal is to beat those scores on those songs without mash?

It could be a good idea or a good additional challenge for one-handers to satisfy.

I don't think 11s or higher should be included in it though if for no other reason than the temptation to mash is too high there and they're not really fun anyway.

Re: FFR's Top One Handers

There are a few 11s that aren't hard one handed. Silence, Southern Cross, Epidermis, Choprite, Club, AIM, Divine Suicide, Novo, GoSW, Lawn Wake 1 and 4, Setsujou...etc. The lower half of the FMOs on FFR aren't that bad, so they shouldn't be mashed even in the slightest.

Re: FFR's Top One Handers

Silence should be mashed if, for no other reason, than to try for the skill token of 1100+ boos and still passing.

Unless you don't try for the skill tokens.

There is only one single point in Midnight Dragon that requires Mashing. The Purple section. Everything else is basically easy. The JumpStream(?) part, if I recall correctly, is slightly difficult.

Re: FFR's Top One Handers

Because of FFR's timing system, it's possible to hit the jump TRILLS (no JS) 1 frame early and 1 frame late if you are slow. It's flexible.

mashing's part of the game sorry

raise your hand if you get a higher score on death piano without mashing at all than with mashing (meaning you attempt to trill the trills, hit the jumpspam at the end as jumps, etc)...yea didn't think so.

If a song's too hard for you, mash away. Your score will inevitably be worse than those who can FC the song without mashing, so there you go...nothing wrong with it.

Uh, please tell me you're kidding.

Dude, watch a replay or something, there are blatant 24th trills with interspered bursts in one section of the song, lmfao. Some of them are on one hand (there's one on each), meaning you'll have to trill one-handed at around 256 BPM 16ths in order to not be mashing on them...AND hit the bursts too.

gl with that.

Re: FFR's Top One Handers

I honestly could careless if you mash
Like Shash said
Mash VS legit FC
Legit FC wins hands down.
=]]

But still why is everyone switching to Spread when they're just getting around in the rankings?

I was the one who went from the worst rank to 4th? 5th? something like that
I'm pretty sure you guys can as well.
You just have to have something motivating you.

*One day left to post any updates you'd like to see in the TP list. If you want to say something, now is the time. After tomorrow, the list will not be modified until September.

P.S I didn't know there were any 24th trills either - but then again I haven't played that song since April.

Thanks for all your work Bynary.

RE Post #404: I think Silence is hard one-handed, but I suck.

I just FCed ESC - Super version with only 6 boos. Now just to get the PA up (it's rotten).

Ya you guys are so dumb, the different colored arrows might be a clue, and blue, I know you play at a high enough speedmod to be able to see that. Haha. Definitely not jumps xD

And shash's you have to trill one handed comment is funny, considering this is a one handers thread :)

Also, my comment that I came to the thread to say.

Irish, you are a one handing beast :< I cannot AAA Fig Leaf Rag for the life of me right now lol.
