Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Anyone have any idea when the special batches are going to be open?
Because I'm making a few songs and am stepping some songs as well, and it would jst be nice to have a time frame if it's not too much to ask |
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
new artist batch would be coo. would also encourage people to find more permissons
new simfile artist batch would be interesting, but would taint my lonely stepman heart....... |

Dont think we need more permissions but more charts by the permissions we currently have that dont have any songs in game.

Go check out the artist permission thread and tell me how much pink you see, Im pretty sure there is a pretty big variety to choose from.

I'm with what Plan's saying. I mean, look at all the unused Rise permissions we have...All those good bands with 0 songs in game.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Problem is, I don't know where to look in that huge list. There are so many artists I don't know where to begin and what I'm missing!
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
where to begin: pink artist
what you're missing: nothing |

and ffr has a lot of stepfile artists, so if a lot of artists dont have any songs in game yet it's probably for a reason |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Yes, and the reason is usually "nobody has gotten around to stepping songs from this artist yet" (and/or: nobody who can get files into the game has gotten around to stepping songs from this artist).
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
New music artist batch = yes
New simfile artist batch = there's no reason for doing that / can't avoid alts, so no as for borderline files, I'll post the result later. ps no new songs for this week, sorry. |
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Close the queue!

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Or the support tokens or somethin ?.?
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Umm...don't you think jimerax has a lot on his plate at the moment? I'm surprised he still gets on when he can. Dedication.
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Yeah, I would imagine he has a lot on his plate since he resides in friggin Tokyo. :(
But, for when he does come back, I do have a question regarding when the Support Tokens will be released. I was told from someone that they would be unlocked as skill tokens. One with 50 AAA's in one day is one I heard and some others with Full Combo's and Grand Total Daily Scores. Just wondering if they are going to come out soon or planned for an event. As well as vROFL, I think that should be released to the public since it IS on token level ranks and cannot be played by some of us who haven't placed in an Official tournament. (Top 8) Whenever you get around to this Jimerax, no rush, obviously, needed. :) Hope all is well. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I always thought the support tokens would be given out for completing the levels in notffron
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I don't know what is going to happen. But, if it is for that, Carlos, than they should tell us lol
EDIT: 4,000th post for me rofl wow. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
sry for being late, the votes of borderline files (I had some mistake on the previous post).
(Queue'd) Passage D - 19/22 (9,1,1) Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya! - 17/22 (7,3,1) System Failure - 16/22 (6,4,1) Fast Asleep - 15/22 (6,3,2) Fatum Anima - 13/20 (5,3,2) ----------------------------------------- (Conditional Queue'd) Aim Burst - 13/22 (5,3,3) - song cut is required. Distorted God - 13/22 (4,5,2) - fix hand placement. ========================================= (Not Queue'd) Frog's Theme - 11/22 (4,3,4) Illumination - 10/22 (4,2,5) Try Harder - 10/22 (3,4,4) Cybertron - 10/22 (3,4,4) NaiNai69 - 10/22 (4,2,5) He's a Pirate - 7/22 (1,5,5) For conditional queue'd files.. fixed dwi should be sent to the submission e-mail. If it's ok, it will be queue'd. |
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Only. Reason I didn't accept he's a pirate is because if it got queued it wasn't going to get fixed
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
We already have megamon's version (shorter) in the queue, and mario's didn't get queue'd this time.
so we'll just release megamon's. |
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya! is in !_!
Yayyyyyyyyy |

Tone'em down mang :I

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
It felt quite iidx-ish, which I liked, but not everyone does. And certainly may not have the same effect with four arrows.
Also, there are STILL several people (at least three) sending in files. Just a reminder: you cannot send in files at this time. |
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
10/22, sweet :D
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
10/22 wtf? That's an amazing score!!! :O
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I think I have fixed enough of System Split to keep me and most of the judges happy... Where do I send the file, same email?
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Im not going to worry about my file being rejected too much atm, I'll fix things up when the artist releases the full version of the song, might be better then.
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I loved system split don't change it D:!!!

|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I liked aim burst as is x:
You were going to replace megamons file that was queued. You failed to do so before the song was release so now you won't have a chance. If the song warrants a v2 and if your file is different enogub you could resubmit yours as a v2 |
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Quote:
"I personally prefer [your] ver by a bit more, but both versions can co-exist imo if it gets accepted." Now, now, that sounded like they were different enough to warrant a v2, no? What else can this mean? |

I never played megamons so I wouldn't know from camparing the two I'm just giving you straight iinformation regarding the matter. Not saying your file was worse or not different enough or anything
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Ah, that freaking stinks! No second chance, I didn't know that.
I'll send it anyway as a resubmit. I might have even less chance of getting it in, but I liked it enough to push my luck. It's already completely fixed, I mean, it could've been in conditional, for that matter... ahh, *grumble*. EDIT: instead of whining about my bad luck, I'll just ask this in the same post: does an artist that has 1 song in queue (or in game, if that changes anything) still considered as new? |
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I have fixes for Passage D as well. I'll send it later today.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I personally would like to have seen the full song, but if you're doing a cut, don't do a fade-out. Cut whatever portions of the song is excessive. Fade-out (and nothing else) is the lazy way of cutting a song.

There is a way to make JS interesting, but 3 minutes of it is hardly the way to do so. Good JS patterns that flow take a lot of planning and structure, especially at higher bpms.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
For now you can only send fixes of queue'd files.
a few more comments on conditional files. [Aim Burst] I say songcut isn't mandatory if you can avoid repetitiveness more without it (I think it's by far the most effective way though). Also, I think long JS/streams in that file don't match the song too well. [Distorted God] some hands/quads are put on not very intense parts, or make some awkward patterns. also putting constant triplet 16ths on hihats isn't a very good way imo, For other borderline/queue'd files, I think most files have room for improvement too. Getting a file on the queue isn't really a goal, so keep up the good work on files. |
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Do we need to name the folder something like "[Fix]>Nameoffile<(simartist)" then?
And is the simfile going to be rejudged and replaced with the already queued file? I'll get to some pattern fixtures and such right now |
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2

Also, I'm wondering what's the deal with judges being so harsh about these borderline files. How is a file getting like 15-16/20 and then having almost half of the judges say "there is no way this belongs in the game, even if you fixed all the problems"? Something's really wrong here. |
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2

If you make really big change on the file and it causes some issues, the fix can be refused. qqwref: I meant simfilers should keep polishing the file until it is released, as far as possible. The goal is getting positive opinions for your file(s) from many people, not just from judges. If a queue'd file has objectively serious issues (dropped notes, syncing, huge difficulty spikes, severe PR errors etc), it will be moved to conditional, otherwise it won't usually. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
So thanks to bmah and TC_Halogen for the complete overhaul of -Glorious Morning- and when I say complete overhaul, I mean sitting for hours on AIM with bmah and AJ probably spending hours on a full BPM fix that was even beyond his imagination. Literally took the song and chart, turned it inside-out and got it fixed. Simfile surgery. We'll find out soon enough if it was successful.
So since no one is answering this question and now I'd like it answered, I'll quote it. Quote:

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Just a question, I don't know if it relates to this thread, but, when will we be expecting this week's songs to come out? I mean it is almost Saturday, so they are coming soon, right?

Good advice, Will do in the future. Though my problem was I Guess i wasn't running Stepmania as an administrator when I stepped my songs, so it it wouldn't save them for some reason.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
open your SM program folder and at the top go to Compatibility files and then the song folder, should be in there.
|
Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Also move stepmania OUT of Program Files. That fixes it.
