There is no argument to this, although stepping these songs will be somewhat painful. I find it hard to step metal songs.

Some of them are, some of them aren't :)
What songs are you talking about? Do I sense a collab?

Well whatever song you're doing I'll be fine with only because it's Crow's Claw. I'll try my best to step a metal song.

I wouldn't mind having additional judges. In fact, I'll accept applications from anybody interested. It would make my life a LOT easier, because I could narrow down the files to anything worth my time (instead of sifting through all of them). If you are interested though, there are some snags I'd want you to be aware of:

- Unlike ER, this is more dictator-like. Judges would help cut down submissions to a rough-hewn selection and I would have the final decision in which files ultimately make it into the pack.
- I will give you some criteria to factor into acception/rejection. I realize personal bias can be inherent in judging files (look at ER: Zero loves half-turns, Halogen loves crossovers, Oni hates stamina files etc.), so I feel this is a measure that should be taken.
- You will use my scale from ER to rate files. Self-explanatory.

------

Criteria for applying:
- You must have a single alias you go by. (ex. either ddr_f4n or Gpop)
- You must link me to or attach two (2) of your best pad files. If I've already judged any of your files or worked with you before this isn't necessary.
- Write a brief synopsis of why you'd like to be a judge. Nothing fancy or life stories required. Maybe 2-5 lines should do it.
- Include your real first name in the e-mail somewhere - I hate calling people I work with online by username.

If you're interested, drop me an e-mail at xiaounlimited@gmail.com.

------

Also, if you know of any communities that would be interested in submitting to this pack by all means do it. A broader range of communities would harvest a wider array of stepping styles. Only hitch is that files must not play like DDR/MGD charts. What this means is:
- Avoiding adding random rhythms (unless it REALLY REALLY works with the song).
- Gallops that go to nothing (re: above).
- Ridiculous crossover runs (Hades, Relinquish, Trigger or Dash Hopes anyone?).
etc.etc. Anyone who knows how to step properly should know these things.

On a final note, I am removing Critical Judgment and Tsurupettan from the file pool.

That should cover it.

I hate doing crossovers. I like putting them into my files and seeing them in others though. ;)

You should know my answer for applying ;)

Oh hey I was told by Trick Master Mint that he might be interested in submitting to this pack.

Re: Touhou Pad Pack II

So I'm talking to Mint and he's got a few files he's willing to submit:

MintMania2DX says:
>>Alright.
>>I'll probably be submitting about 10 files. Maybe.
Gpop says:
>>That's more than enough. That'll be great.
MintMania2DX says:
>>I'll see what I have on hand. There are a bunch of files that I haven't released yet.
Gpop says:
>>As long as they're pad files it'll most likely be accepted
>>What are you planning on submitting?
MintMania2DX says:
>>Well, let's see...
>>This much is certain:
>>Artificial Children, Marisa Circuit 1, REMILIA, Plastic Usagi (Tewi's Rock Battle), >Sweets Time, Complete Darkness, Company Song for the Corporation of Border Affairs, >The Dream Duel, and possibly Bow Before Me, Ignorant Fools! The Lady's Madness, >All-Night Hourai Live.
Gpop says:
>>Well those songs seems alright. None taken nor previously submitted it seems
MintMania2DX says:
>>Alright. Put me down for all of those then.
>>And put them under the name Letty Whiterock.
Gpop says:
>>Alright then I'll let them know.
MintMania2DX says:
>>Oh.
>>And for the hell of it, I'll toss in Fascination Marisa.

Completely random note, but I just realized that Brandon's avatar is Komachi Onozuka--and I'm in Team Touhou at ITGfreak, and Komachi is my character. xD!

No.

And why not?

I really don't need to explain that.

No, seriously, you do. Why is something like Candy Gossun accepted, but not Fascination Marisa?

Xiaounlimited 03-18-2009 11:08 PM

Re: Touhou Pad Pack II

I was going to remove that, actually. I didn't say the songlist was final, did I?

I've been way too slack on this ****.

Actually, on second thought I might just scrap the list altogether and start anew. I've been far too lenient.

Fair enough. So why is Fascination Marisa not allowed?

What kind of criteria are you looking for at this point? I mean, if you're going to start scraping things left and right, how are you going to have a pack at all?

Xiaounlimited 03-18-2009 11:21 PM

Re: Touhou Pad Pack II

FaxX has its own good charts. Marisa has its own good charts. Smashing them up and stepping it does not mix the best of both worlds. Candy Galy is a good song, but Candy Gossun ended up being an overstepped pad dump.

Honestly, you could be doing much better files with your time than crapping out mashup songs like those.

Unless you can prove me wrong with an !! OMG AMAZING !! chart for Faxmarisa, I'd rather just play charts for either original song.

[edit]
Concerning the above post:
For one, I have MULTITUDES of entries still waiting to be judged. Scrapping the current list (which is primarily me anyway) wouldn't destroy the pack.

I do have a basic criteria I use for judging files (which I don't feel like outlining right now; maybe later), but that kind of stretched and vanished at points. When I'm running the project and take the brunt of the responses, I find it hard to say "no" at times. If you look at my judging for ER where I'm in the background, I'm much more strict and produce much better results as a judge.

I feel I should scrap and re-evaluate where everything stands. Nothing at this point is final. This project has barely left the ground. I'm not content with the quality of TPP1, and if this sees the light of completion I don't want it to go down the ****ter.

I made Fascination Marisa. If anyone can make a good chart for it, it's me.

Well, if you want good files, then you'll need to find good simfile artists. Have everyone who wants to be a part of it submit a file as a test, and let it be the decider of whether or not they are good enough to be a part of the pack. Pretty simple, wouldn't you say?

Re: Touhou Pad Pack II

Well if you're going to scrap everything and start anew with new judges and such, might as well make a new thread for it, no?

Touhou Pad Pack 2 revival thread.
