ive been trying to fc the games we played pt. 4 for way too long at this point and it took me a while to realize that the game only saves your best score (as in the one with the highest value)
so in order to get that token i now need to get a full combo on that song AND get a higher raw score than i did the first time i played in order for it to count
im now in a competition against my older self and if i hadnt set the bar so high i would have that token already
i have managed to full combo it several times now but since i got more goods than i did the first time it only saved the run where i broke combo
thats one of the only major flaws ive seen in ffr

lunatic rave saves your score and combo separately so itll give you the full combo flag even if your ex score is lower than it was previously
it displays your best grade as well as your highest combo and the two dont need to be from the same run
if ffr did that i wouldnt have to pass a 3:16 song littered with jumpstreams with a full combo and 26 or less goods

the main reason why i play rhythm games is cause i love when i fall into that zen mode and my thought process just shuts down as my fingers and eyeballs are connected via direct link and i hit every note without even processing what im doing until the end when i come away with a full combo

idk if its like that for everyone but thats what keeps me going
what keeps me striving for better and better scores
it makes me feel powerful in a way nothing else can

id been saving them up for a while before just realizing that it makes more sense to purchase all the hidden songs first because after youve bought everything credits become useless except to play the secret songs
its certainly different that most other virtual currencies ive used
i suppose anything more than 150,000 is just for bragging rights but seeing as how it took me a year to get to 10% of that total i dont think it really comes up very often

im not saying the extreme difficulty in unlocking many of the songs isnt bad its just not what im used to
i feel like some of the tokens (like "earn a grandtotal of 1,000,000,000 in one day) were intended as joke goals that no one ever possibly expected a human to achieve and i suppose in an online game like this that makes sense
i just dont feel like its possible to "win" ffr
itd take years to unlock everything the game has to offer especially since new songs are being added all the time
thats not like any other game ive ever played

ive been playing ddr ever since i was a child (and i only ever used a controller, im terrible on pad)
ive had stepmania for two years now and ive played thousands of songs of all difficulty levels
ive played cytus, ive played osu!, ive played iidx, ive played guitar hero
ive played so many combinations and permutations of rhythm games, so many variations of "do a thing to hit the note in time with the music"

and yet im absolutely floored by how hard ffr can be

ive been here for 1.03 years now and im a d2 player
i can fc most songs in the 30-40 range and a few 40+s
the hardest chart ive ever aaa'd was a 30 and i was somewhat familiar with the song beforehand
but ive seen the 70+ songs on ffr and theyre insanely difficult in comparison to my skill level
theyre so dense i can barely register individual arrows its just a blur of colors at like 24 notes per second
and yet people can aaa these??? there are human beings capable of such impossible feats
thats amazing
