Does Music ability help you play FFR?

I am a drummer...I'm not too good in my own eyes, but i have a set and like to hit and make the noise!!! I'v taken drum lessons for about 2 years now, and when i started playing FFR recently i thought that it would be a piece of cake because of my musical experience, but it turns out that i suck at it.. :oops: oh well 8) So now I'm asking you guys, musical or not, do you think that having musical ability helps you play Flash Flash Revolution? (i know that playing, for example, the harmonica or accordion doesnt really help for this game, but you know what i'm talking about..)(i hope..)

I have played cello for about 4 and a half years, and it hasnt helped me much. I am good with rhythm (spelling there for sure) and all, too.

Practice helped alot more than anything.

I play the piano and it might help you recognize when the beats actually occur, therefore helping you get perfects more often because you can press it right on beat. Of course this is saying that the arrows are right on beat, and then again, maybe not, since I can't get on a high score set unless it's been reseted.

I've been playing the piano for about 10 years, on and off, and the trumpet for 4. Having knowledge of music helps me stay on beat and it helps me keep a steady tempo as well as tempo changes. With out music I would have no rhythm.

Music has definently help me excel in DDR(as well as FFR). But as in anything, it takes practice, you don't get it right off the bat.

When i play, sometimes i focus too much on the music, and the arrows end up being misses because i hit with the beat... :cry: :oops: tis very crappy... oh well lol :)

you guys are no fair..that allo rondo thinger is way too hard for me..i just whack my fingers in a steady pattern of 10 or 15 buttons per second and i end up just messing up in the first 10 seconds! :) hehehe..of course when it has those 5 notes, like 3 with right&2 with left, that make the song so catchy..that i can do! :mrgreen: hehe

Yea, and you use a very similar, or same style of finger positioning as IIDX in DWI and Stepmania, Thats ..k. And The only reason i dont play IIDX Is because the emulator is a peice of shit and the keyboard Buttons are just..gay. My finger positioning in IIDX is completely different.. I have to utilize like 7 or 8 of my fingers in IIDX where as in DWI/SM/FFR I use 2 fingers
