kjwkjw's 7 Round Frenzy Tournament!

Hi everyone. This is my first time running an FFR tournament, and like the name suggests, it will have 7 rounds. Please read!!

Rounds
In this tournament, each round will last around a week. There will be NORMAL rounds and SPECIAL rounds. In normal rounds, you will play a given song with the regular scoring system (see below) and submit your score through a screenshot. Special rounds (2,4,6, and namely Skill Token PA Round, Minimum Combo Round, and Task Round) will have different scoring systems, but you still post your score here in a screenie. In all rounds, there will be an ELIMINATION LINE that separates players who will be moving on to the next round and players who will be eliminated.

Scoring
Normal scoring system is:
YOUR SCORE (the one above your total at the result screen) + YOUR COMBO.
This way, combo will not matter very much, but will affect your score in case of people with very matched skills.

In the SKILL TOKEN PA ROUND, all songs will be...well...skill token songs =P
Your score will be the NUMBER OF PERFECTS minus the NUMBER OF BOOS.

In the MINIMUM COMBO ROUND, your goal is to pass (you need to for the score to count!) the song with the least possible combo and perfects. Your score will be 10x YOUR COMBO + the NUMBER OF PERFECTS. (Of course, lowest scores will move on.)

And lastly, in the TASK ROUND, your goal is to get as close as possible to the ridiculous things required from a song. (e.g. 25 goods, 50 averages) The total of the numbers your result is off by from these requirements is your score, and again, lowest scores move on.

Divisions
I hope to have 4 divisions:

GURU (Challenging - FGO)
EXPERT (Very Difficult - FMO)
INTERMEDIATE (Standard - Very Difficult)
BEGINNER (Very Easy - Tricky)

but if there aren't enough people, I would have to settle for three.
Post what division you want to be in, but I will check your stats to make sure you aren't way off.

In the month i've been here i've seen maybe 200+ different people sign up for tourneys, but only like 20-30 actually playing.

Well...actually, come to think of it, the scoring depends a little more on PA because each perfect = 50 pts and each combo = 1 pt (remember, scoring for the four normal rounds = the "score" + the combo).

So, expert? Updating.

And taking this into consideration, do you think you may even want intermediate, XUioX? (Standard - Very Difficult)

All right, a few things.

1) I will do a final update now, before editing for Round 1. PLEASE MAKE SURE OF YOUR DIVISION!! (I will move MP3 Player to guru.)
2) "Expert" difficulties will be slightly changed.
3) Sign-ups will be open until the end of Round 1. If I still do not have enough players in a certain division, scores will be cumulated through the first couple of rounds.

the way i usually get good PA's on low lvl songs is rest my wrists on my desk while i play spread (sd kl) what that does is it lets me focus more on the arrows and beat, and makes sure i hit each key the right way.

thats how i do it.

So...just letting you know that the max # of people who will be eliminated in each division will be 4. Just don't get in the bottom 4 and you should advance to Round 2 no matter how many people sign up.

And I hope more people sign up so that each round will eliminate at least one person (we need 2 more in beginner and 3 more in expert). Please tell anyone you think may be interested!!

Well, since it looks like there isn't going to be enough people in beginner and expert, I will explain the cumulative system that I will use.

Each person will be given ranking points: 0 for last, 1 for second to last, etc. (If there are two people who didn't submit a score, though, they will both get a 0 and the person above will get a 2) I will do the same for the 2nd round, and the person with the lowest total ranking points will be eliminated. (If it is tied at totals of 0, the person at the bottom of the list will get eliminated; otherwise, there will be a tiebreaker in case of a tie for moving on.)
