My school made lasagna and told me it was normal sauce, so I ate it...then my friend who had the same thing as me pointed out that inside they had put some meat sauce ><...I feel like I lost a part of my identity...any one else ever had something like this happen?

Being a vegetarian isn't like being a virgin. One slip doesn't end the whole thing for you. Just carry on not eating meat and don't worry about it. The animal was already dead and prepared, and would have been eaten by others or thrown in the garbage, just pay a little closer attention to food you don't prepare yourself, and you should be alright.

I looked at the outside...but I have ADD so I didn't even think to pay attention to the inside ><...I definitely will check more carefully next time...I don't wanna eat things that at one point were alive and moving because I always picture them struggling and screaming when they were killed...that thought just bothers me.

Don't listen to him. If you eat meat as a vegetarian you will have to spend the rest of your life in vegetarian purgatory. REPENT SINNER.

I feel your pain. What most people don't know about me is that I'm a vegeterian also. My school always has meat so I just improvise. But I agree that you should not get worked up if you somehow ingest meat, I mean, you didn't mean it. It's happend to me before.

You can get meatless lasagnas. My brother eats them. They have some other **** (probably soy) instead of meat.

Also animals don't scream when they're killed because boltguns kill them instantly lmfao stop being so melodramatic.

Animals eat other animals and that's just the way it is. If you don't get your protein you won't grow. Instead of just cutting the meat out, why not just eat regular portions that you would have eaten if you weren't in a civilization.

mightymic
02-23-2008, 10:34 PM
Human is made to eat meat. We need the proteins inside this to grow and to keep our body in shape. I'm not saying that vegetarian people will be weak and all messed up, but you need those portions of meat each day to be at your top shape and its way more important when you are young and you are growing. Again, humans are made to eat meat.

You cannot just compare the two. We are animals, and we do what we do to survive. If that involves eating another animal then I will.

plants are living too you know, we just can't hear them scream.

My thoughts, too. If killing animals for nutritional value is mean, I wonder about the countless plants that are abused, chopped up, stepped on and cut down every day? I'm just wondering.

And I do still feel your pain of breaking your tradition. I have a lot of traditions I hold to be my identity, as well. For instance, I haven't had a soda/pop/soft drink/cold drink/carbonated whatever since July 26, 2005. It was a root beer float at my grandma's house in celebration of moving back home to the US.
