Dumbass of the Year 2006 - Nominations!

Finally, November is here yet again. It's finally time once again for the granddaddy (or maybe the only) of all FFR Forum Awards, Dumbass of the Year! Last year was an astounding success, with a great response from our members and the selection of a champion and truly great dumbass, sente3. Now, for our second annual competition, DotY 2006, we have to scope out someone else that truly deserves to win. Somebody who goes above and beyond to find and bring forth the true essence of "dumbass". Someone who can show us that stupidity can go much further than we ever could've imagined. Someone we can truly congratulate for their accomplishments in the field of dumbassery. Indeed, this is quite a prestigious award.

So, just to cut to the chase, let's get on with the rules for this year. If you've been here before, pay close attention, because they've changed just a bit.

Rules for Nomination:

1. Your nominee must be known by forum regulars for their dumbassery.

2. Your nominee must have executed their dumbassery sometime this year 2006.

3. Be sure to include one post as an example of dumbassery. You know that little number, right after "#", in the top-right corner of a post? Click it, and copy the link. It's that easy.

4. Only one nominee per person. Make your nominations in the thread, NOT by PM. Al nominees are final; no changing your nominee. Please bold your nominee! Also, you may nominate a person even if they already have been nominated! The more nominations, the more examples, and the better the chance of becoming a finalist!

5. You may not nominate yourself. This contradicts the spirit of the contest.

6. Nominations must be posted by Tuesday, November 21. All eligible nominees will thereafter be considered, and voting will begin shortly after.

I will add a post history and a short description for each nominee, and I will also post the nominator or nominators for each nominee. Keep an eye on the first post; it will be updated regularly. I alone have the power to decide who can be a nominee. If he or she doesn't fit the criteria as I see it, he or she will not be added. If you feel I'm wrong, make your case by PM.

This year, I have the pleasure of bringing close attention to an undisputed champion of dumbassery, laughsitup2005. Because this idiot has built such a reputation for being so incredibly stupid and would win hands-down this year, he is barred from nomination. He is ensured an award this year, so please do not complain about not being able to nominate him last year like boogiebear. And, although he is the boogiebear of last year, we're going to do something a little bit different for him. We're going to rack up "approval points". If you truly acknowledge his dumbassery, please end your post with laughsitup approval, bolded and italicized just like that. I'll add the points up and we'll create a "dumbass rating" for him.

The finalists will consist of at least 3 nominees, with a variable maxium of 7-10. I encourage you when nominatons close (READ: WHEN NOMINATIONS CLOSE) to make a case for your nominee via PM, if you think he or she has a lesser chance of being chosen.

Go hunt for nominees, find your favorite, and make your post! Choose the one who is truly worthy of being chosen as Dumbass of the Year 2006!
